Good place to work and grow

I was with the company for nearly 15 years. It afforded me a lot of opportunity and room to grow and learn. I can only speak to non-union roles, but the pay is bit on the lower side generally speaking, but benefits are fairly significant. Between year end bonus, health benefits, and various service discounts you can likely add another ~8k to salary. Lots of focus on development and training (at least in the areas I was in). The culture was generally very positive and a huge increase in focus on mental health over the past few years. Toxic management is generally weeded out in one way or another. In 15 years I think I only interacted with a small handful of less than desirable management/executives who were never with the company for terribly long.

smorgs and bowling other fun things to keep people productive an motivated

Everyday was a new and interesting experience, We worked as a team and helped each other, we never had to be micro managed, it was always clear by management what our duties were and when we were done our own duty we jumped in and helped others. We had time restraints and did our best to meet them and knew if with the other duties we had we weren't going to meet them that a co-worker would jump in and save the day. I loved this job.

Supervisor

Assess yesterdays work by collectors, constantly keep on your toes to oversee what the other collectors have completed. Management and work area is very comfortable. Hardest part of the job is irate customers. Most enjoyable part of the job is the work environment and the co- workers.

I loved working at TELUS, it was a energetic exciting workplace

I truly enjoyed working for TELUS, there was a fairly steep learning curve that I enjoyed, wonderful leaders, and great support. I was not very technically inclined when I first started training, and trust me if they could teach me tech support (12 O'clock flasher) they've got some great training.

Working for TELUS

The most enjoyable part of the job is meeting new people and using my optimistic nature to initiate relationships and persuasively sell ideas.The hardest part of the job is navigating internal process. Selling to clients are the easiest part but pulling resources and delivery process internally needs improvement. What I have learned over the past 10 years is that you have to broaden your network within the company. Performance and your numbers are not enough to ensure a position within any big corporation. The best values I have learned is that you are accountable for your own success!

Great People and Company

I was working as a Business Analyst for a year and a half, I would Get tickets for locates (Alberta First call) then check our facility maps to see if there is conflicts with our facilites and where the customer is excavating. If there was conflicts I would send the ticket out the have a locate complete, if there was no conflict I would then give them clearance from TELUS.I also became a Team lead and would help train and manage my team, Unfortunatly I was only Temp and was laid off due to slow work in the winter. I learnt to use diffrent computer programs such as IRTHNET, Fieldview, and CISCO. I also helped Implement new procedures and standardized notes. The most enjoyable part of the job was the flexibility for work hours and my co-workers, The hardest part of the job was not having a permanent position and job security.

Great place to work , Culture lacking ,Misguided Management

I enjoyed my time working at TELUS, there road shows are well planned and executed to promote upcoming products, they do donate a lot within the communities where they operate, they pay higher than similar positions within the industry, there benefit packages and other perks extend past the norm within the industry.Hardest part of the job is being expected to work miracles with limited scope of duties, faulty operating systems, and without the proper supports, as well as a lack of cross communication between internal departments that translates to a poor client experience.The most enjoyable part of the job was being part of a close knit team that due to long hours at work became like a second family. Also resolving client issues with years of experience, and being able to quickly satisfy and resolve client issues or concerns. Making the clients happy and my relationships with my colleagues was the most rewarding part of my career at TELUS.

Large company, good pay, union.

It is a good company to work for. Must be adaptable to change. Upper management likes to do reorganizations every couple of years.Company is controlled by union environment.Lots of upper management decisions are not realistic.

Highly Toxic Customer Experience

Could have used practice calls to learn how best to react to usual toxic situations with irate, unreasonable customers. Technical support sufficient.

I was 1 week from my probation ... they opened a center in Guatemala and fired my entire class without cause or explanation
