The work at TC Energy is very fulfilling and the work life balance is fantastic. The down side is the ever rotating door of poorly skilled management between both director and manager levels. Their lack of understanding of the tasks required to do general business undermines performance progress and efficiency for all. In turn this reduces moral and taints what could be a very exceptional place to develop a career.
Work Life Balance, Income and benifits.
Lack of good direction. Breeding ground for incompetent management.
It was a very good organization to work for. It is a well structured organization. It have very diversified businesses and they allow people to move from one business unit to other.
Reputed and dynamic organization
Very huge organization.
I have my own office and learn everyday. Involved in meetings with various technical groups / stakeholders. Answer e-mails and technical queries. Manage, schedule and maintain assets within the company. Manage fabrication projects. Manage project turnover documents and file for record keeping. Approve purchase orders for materials and various vendors/ third parties. As-built Redline drawings and manage drafting complete. Improve pfds, procedures, processes and troubleshooting.. Employee training / couses for career development. Show value added and cost savings for employee performance review.
Really enjoy working at TransCanada. As with any workplace, the management team is important. I was luck enough to have great reporting managers. The team was also very pleasant too. Unfortunately the price of oil reduce the budget for facility improvements.
Pleasant, flexible work environment

Many great people, some I will always remain friends with. Many opportunities for professional growth in various business units. Opportunities for advancement, to mentor, give back to the community, support charities, etc..
Project work can require long hours.
No long term growth in the Oil side of the business. Great for Co-op students or young engineers looking to learn about the pipeline business. Typical owner companies do no Engineering so if you are expecting to design something and stamp it go work for an EPC.
Disengaged managers that seems to be only concerned with CYA
This company is currently reorganizing and impacting hundreds of workers. This will continue for some time. If you are in core business you will find a political atmosphere to try and survive in. If you are looking to punch a clock and collect a great salary you will be fine. Change management is poorly executed
