On a typical day you can expect to be bossed around like a slave, talked down to like a child, and be ignored by people who do not wish to converse with you in English. Management doesnt seem to talk to one another about daily needs or decisions, leading to constant miscommunication. Overall this is the most stressful kitchen I've worked in.

This was my first job. I was a part-time bakery clerk. Basically helping customers either in person or over the phone, filling showcases, doing minor baking, and cleaning was essentially my job. It gave me great work experience. Although the management wasn't that great, the employees from other departments were really fun to be around. I found that the bakery department had a lot of drama and issues more than the other departments combined. The management didn't really solve any issues, they just talked through everything and thought they solved them. I will say, the managers themselves are really nice and fun people. But when it comes to actually dealing with issues, they don't really help. It is a very fast-paced environment. You have to be a very quick worker and get things done on time or else you will be behind the next day, which they hate! Especially during the holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas. If you can handle working at Sunterra, you can handle working anywhere!
Great coworkers, discount, set schedule, great starting job
long hours (especially during holidays), little to no advancement, management, drama
It’s very busy this morning for putting tray in ice boxes. Cutting any vegetables and fruits. Making ingredients for extra dressing. Makes vegetable and fruits on bowls for ordering foods to other companies. Clean/ mop freezer and room and throw away garbage.

the people i worked with
wasnt the greatest expirence
I started at Sunterra in 2013, and after four years the store had so many issues. I can't say that it was anyone's fault at the store, but the new management talked about issues and never seemed to solve them. The main problem seemed to be the complete lack of support from the head office in Calgary.
nice people, good location
piddly expense account benefits, poor management
• Responsible for making gourmet salad boxes and catering • Responsible for gourmet salad dressing • Make sure the salad box showcase is full and abundant • Responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the production counter and other area • Provide an excellent costumer service
sunterra has a lack of managment skills and struggles to give employees much needed time off, work diversity is huge most employees to not actively speak english to customers nor co-workers. Managment is poor at treating the employees and individuals rather than worker bees.
I was responsible for talking to every customer who came into the store and offering them samples of whatever was the designated items for that month/week. I learned food preparation skills and got customer service experience. As it was my first job, I learned a lot about what a real workplace looks like. the management was a bit odd but everyone else was awesome. Hardest part was talking to people all day, I love being enthusiastic but I am an introvert so doing customer service all day was a bit difficult, though putting a smile on peoples faces and getting to know my coworkers was awesome.
discount on products from the store
really weird management
Great place to start a career as they have the room for advancement. Great co workers. Supportive Management. Flexible working hours
The staff and management are very kind and understanding. Get long days during Christmas and Thanksgiving which can give you extra cash. Typical day was stocking and facing shelves, finding products people were looking for. I learned some basic cashier work. Hardest part was standing a squatting a lot, on your feet for a long time. Most enjoyable part is the people.
great people, can earn a little extra money around holidays.
long hours around Christmas and Thanksgiving and other holidays.
It was fun working place at a fast paced invironment. I'ved learned a lot from the company with the support of the management.and with the support of the team members. some problems are not easy but by working togethe we all managed to solve any problems. the most fun part working at sunterra is when we get together with team members.
