It is a typical 9-5 but you're expected to stay longer most of the time in accounting department because it is so busy and it is the culture. Unless you are under union staying longer than 8 hours is normal. No overtime pay.

They are varied. The nature of the business dictates. Too many casuals vying for shifts. Cannot earn a living. They often offer 4 hours shifts. Unrealistic to expect for people having to travel too far distances for a half day. Captures the entire day for only half a day's wage. Often, those 4-hour days are expected every day. That's a full-time job for only part-time earnings.

The working hours in my department is from 4 to 8 hours max per day. Full time has 5 days a week while part time has 1 to 4 days a week.

Every department is different depending on role. However, departamental secreatry and admins are usually office hours 8am-4pm
