I worked for Suncor several times. One of the best clients I've ever worked for. Great place to work, all those involved were great to work with and easy to accomplish great things.
Great client to work for.
Not really any cons to speak of.
The experience I gained here was great! It is a company with a promising future. To fulfill this potential, they should work on their mid-level leadership (Directors and Managers). Senior leaders at the Executive level sound like they know what they are doing - but many of the Mid-level leaders at Suncor are not good at people leadership. Too much micro-management and favoritism. Approval process is one of the worst I have ever experienced - takes forever to get work done in the corporate office.
Toxic work environment - not a great culture
There is no such thing as a typical day. Customer service provides feedback to the Marketing Department and the stories will have you baffled. We're loading gift cards for contest winners, contacting winners, drafting waivers, planning events, seeking sponsorship, designing buckslips and inserts. Co-workers were ok; we had a common goal and reminded ourselves of that daily. Hardest part of the job was trying to establish a routine because there is always something new being thrown your way but that was also the most enjoyable part because no two days were ever the same so it kept you on your toes.
