I enjoy working at sunlife they care about their employees and they care about their clients. They continuously try to make things better any way they can and to impove the employees experience. We have a say at work, and if we have an idea to make something better we are heard. I love my team as they are with everyday and the managers try there best to help in any way possible.
Continued outsourcing to foreign countries has made working at Sun Life volatile, pressurized and insecure. Expectations an quantifying every second of your day has made it impossible to make rational decisions that are qualitative based. If you do you are scrutinized for not accomplishing both. Thinking an issue through with care to both the policy holders and the company requires a balance. Sun Life only cares about the bottom line and the stock prices anymore. Acting like a true insurance company the odds of statistics are used to determine what is in their best interest financially. Outsourcing has dramatically increased the error rate of a claim but they play the odds. How many people will really notice or complain. So they take the low road with their staff and reduce the Canadian component of the company with ever increasing speed. No loyalty to their people that built them, their country or their policy holders. Sun Life housed the crown jewels during WWII for pity sake. How Canadian is that? Bye Bye Canada. Don't believe their advertising, it is a lie.

My colleagues were friendly and helpful with answering questions that are asked from them. The hardest part of the job was the sitting down, working 7.5 hours in front of the computer on production. The most enjoyable part of it is that I can start early and leave early to enjoy the rest of the day to do personal errands that need no time to make up for.

Accuracy requirement is 99.4%, almost 100%, quite unrealistic because error is humanely present which is why the turn over of manpower is also quite frequent. Trust and confidence is very important as each individual is set to monitor his/her own daily activity and production. Very intense 7.5 hour day in front of the computer analyzing and processing federal insurance claims.
