It's great to talk to people from all walks of life while gathering important data. It's very interesting and fun! The hours vary and the Office is open 7 days/ week. You'll learn all kinds of different programs and applications
Small town crowd..good friends
Small town crowd..too many cliches!
Some difficulty getting someone to talk to who could make decisions but overall no problems. Not sure who my manager is most of the time and the remote work from home equipment process needs to be reviewed.
Pick you hours
Did a three month term with Statistic Canada in 2016 for the 2016 census. The pay was pretty good at $16 per hour, but the hours weren’t that great. I always thought working at a government job would be Monday to Friday from start times 7-9am to end times 3-5pm, this job was a morning shift, even shifts and weekend shifts. We took phone calls, and then when that job was done we had to visit peoples houses in the area we were working at for that day and knock on peoples doors rain or shine. They, however, did compensate you for kilometres driven (if you had a car), other means of transportation, and parking fees.
Sitting in an office all day, working weekends and nights and working outside rain or shine
They were accommodating and flexible about hours. They were concerned about safety of employees, when or required they allowed a team approach, for comfort of employees. They allowed unconventional techniques, when it was successful. When required, they backed up employees, with RCMP phone support assist
Flexible, fun comrades, supervisors were asset
Could be long hours, if you wish.

I accepted this largely in part to put me out of my comfort zone i am not a very social person and I do not typical approach and talk to strangers. But my team lead was very good at preparing us for most situations and it calmed down my nerves quite a lot. He also made sure we knew he and his second were always available if we had any question or issues at anytime.
Make your own hours, work independently
It was extremely hot outside in the summer
Great opportunity for anyone looking for short term challenging work. Your an organized and meticulous leader with the ability to keep tight deadlines and will work long hours sometimes. It’s a great job for someone who is able to work with different personalities and stay focussed (stay sane) while problem solving. Great experience but the wage was a little disappointing.
I am happy to be on a team that provides public service. The job is well paced and provides a good balance of challenge and reward. Site is professional, leadership is well trained, and the shifts vary so I can enjoy my own goals outside of work.
I really enjoyed my time there. I didn’t do an interview but I did have to do a written exam. I applied In February and only received an offer in July. The other employees are great very friendly. The job is a little boring but you get to listen to music and dress casually.
Friendly staf, relaxed work environment
Long hours; takes time before getting a call

It's one of the best call-centre jobs that you can get around here. Salary is good for that field, benefits are good, and they are very flexible. Great job for a student or a retiree who wants to supplement their pension. If you have a thin skin, you may have trouble, but its a good way to learn how to deal with difficult people. After I got the hang of it, I rarely had people stay upset if they started out that way.
right Now there is a shortage of hrs but when the surveys pick back up I love the hours including evenings and weekends.
I have been employed at Stats Can in Sturgeon falls now for little over a year and I still enjoy going into work best place of employment. Management has been helpful and I have had a positive experience. The work at first seems like there’s a lot to remember but it all smooths out after the first couple days. Only con to working here is job security I feel like we could have had a bit more notice to such a large decrease in hours felt kinda suddenly
It was great to learn the area of which you lived in, meet your neighbors and was a great to converse with others about the information that you were compiling. Hardest part of the job was hitting the pavement on some of the hottest days - but with your work load, you broke up your day and go back out late afternoon/afternoon. You were your own boss and meaningful to have been a part of history!
Very clear and structured, I always knew exactly what I was going to be doing each day and well ahead of time. There were no surprises so I could plan everything I needed to. I had support when I needed it. I was treated with dignity and respect which was new for me in the workforce. I was given room to advance which was also a novelty.
great pay, great benefits, stable, clear expectations, good communication
