Starbucks is a great place to work to meet the community. Also, Starbucks supported my studies, and were flexible when scheduling around study time and exams.

Working for Starbucks has been fun and exciting. I had a great time working in a youthful environment and was given many opportunities to develop within the company.
In a day there is lots of customer service aspects of the job. If you like greeting and talking. Lots of cleaning.

Very early shifts starting at 4:30AM, fun and close team to work with. Lots of friendly customers. Downtown Vancouver is hard to work in, got approached with a needle twice.

Good option for people who have just started their career. The task is fairly basic and easy to pick up. My co-workers are very friendly and fun to work with.

Quite an easy job and a fun environment to work in for students. Early mornings and mandatory weekend availability was not very easy to work with as a college grad but the benefits are amazing.

The job is quite easy to get into although can get repetitive. Management use to care quite a bit about the job culture. Things have changed and the company is more automated than ever.

Very loose schedule and really bad mismanagement also very cult-y.

I very much enjoyed this job while it lasted. I was only there for about a month, as that's how long the Barista training program allowed me to stay. I learned a great deal in my short time there. And I would recommend this establishment to anyone who is interested in the field.

Good place to work, manager she's good at supporting as best as she could. Everyone is friendly even the customers . Busy work environment fast paced

Fun workplace, only problems were management didn't make an effort to accomodate my schedule for schooling. You also would get some bad customers occasionally, but everywhere does. Coworkers were always fun to work with, it was a very good environment and everyone generally liked eachother.

Starbucks not only turned me into a competent barista but also taught me how important it is to be a leader. I had no real noteworthy work experience prior to this job and felt helpless in the beginning but now, I feel as if I can do anything because of how they train you and build your character into someone who can deal with difficult situations no matter how bad it gets. This let me become confident and in return, I wanted to help my workplace become a better place and overall I can definitely say I have become a better person not only at work but in life. I still keep in touch with some of the partners I met years ago unlike most workplaces because of how strong they teach you to build lasting relationships. I highly encourage those who need a good place to start out to apply to Starbucks as it will help them improve not only in the customer service industry but as an overall human being.

I had the opportunity to work as a Starbucks Barista during 2016, when I was completing my final classes of my undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia.
Work at Starbucks was frenetic and required a considerable attention to detail to ensure that customer needs were met and knowledge of the myriad products were retained and crafted with care. I was fortunate to have very supportive co-workers, and one of the best managers I've ever had in any position I've worked. This meant that the hardest aspects of the job - the relentless nature of the day-to-day shifts, particularly during breakfast and lunch rushes - were easier to handle, and even thrive in.

Working for Starbucks greatly improved my customer service skills, my ability to work under pressure, and my appreciation for a solid and supportive teamwork environment.

Working at Starbuck is expremelly challenging, because you have a lot of duties and need to be very fast.
It's a very nice company, the training is very good, the customers are nice and you can make good friends.

The hardest part is when you have bad supervisors, who don't give you the needed support.

Went downhill. Customers and sales over employees. It was good in the beginning but then it consistently went downhill to the point sometimes I would dread going to work. I had full morning availability but was only given opening shifts.

Choose your location wisely cuz you might be doing the same job but a much busier location is gonna actually stress you out. Making coffee is fun! Love when people come in and always have smiles on their faces.

Working in Starbucks taught me a lot like how you deliver a world class service to your customer. These are the ways that I've learned. One way is to make your customer feel comfortable. The next way is listen and focus on customer about their order, suggestion and comments. Just be attentive all the time. Lastly, I've learned that always ask your customer feedback and always say thank you after they come to the store.

The hardest part of the job when you meet a rude guest and they keep yelling at you. And also sometimes having shortage of employee.


The most enjoyable part of the job when you meet your expectations of being a barista and having a energetic and reliable team.



About my workplace since I'm just new from town in USA I've experienced a cross diversity culture.

Most of the Starbucks I worked at were busy so it makes the day go by fast. Over the years I found that management expected a lot more from you without compensating the workload.

i loved working at starbucks as it was a very friendly and energy filled environment. every body in my team was so helpful and even though it took me a while to adjust everybody was very helpful

I feel like the company lost focus. Their ethics is what real pulled me in when I first applied, as time when on I felt like I mattered less and less, even with the term "Partners"

This was the worst job I had ever had. I stated I needed a 40 hours a week, full-time job and after the first couple of months or so. My hours were drastically cut and I had to address this with management, almost every week. They expect you to be available pretty much 24/7 for them even if they cut your hours to the minimum 12 hours a week, as well as for the majority of the other Baristas. If you are a student this is pretty good job so long as you're at a store where the management abides by the availability you've provided. However, I highly do not recommend this company for anyone looking for full-time employment. I know that shift supervisors, managers, and up can have full time hours but the majority of Baristas don't. If you're able to apply for a position higher up, it'd be worth your while but starting off from being a Barista is a struggle.
