This is related to the petawawa location.

My experience training in Ottawa was amazing. Then when we got to petawawa, it was a shhh show!! No support from upper management when it came to store issues. DM was not a Leader!

Not a good feeling place to work

I recommend not getting a job at Starbucks: 1. You are always ALWAYS understaffed (even when you have a full team on the floor). 2. You often do not receive all of your breaks (too many sick calls, and lots of customers means you do not get your legal breaks. 3. Nobody truly has a clue what they are doing. Everyone is making drinks differently, and then arguing with each other that the other person is wrong. DRAMA CENTRAL! And angry customers. Who needs this stress for such low pay. 4. Because its SO busy, and we are SO understaffed, the workspace is absolutely DISGUSTING to work in. The cups float in milk, my shoes are sticky with coffee. No time - this is gross, and stressful. 5.Multi-tasking is absurd. Pay me more please! I need to do 10 things at once, and at any given time two staff members are yelling at a different two staff members. This is absolute madness. Nobody gets along. 6. I do not feel appreciated in the least bit. I work my butt off, and the leaders are so stressed out all the time because everyone is calling in sick that I get ZERO recognition. I don't blame them for being stressed out. Like, someone quit today, someone quit last week, 3 people called in sick yesterday. And since there is no team culture, nobody will help anybody else cover shifts. So - it's an endless cycle of too many customers and not enough staff. 7. Your schedule is never the same, never even remotely the same! I have a family, and I need some consistency please. 8. I sat in the cafe previously ...I was there for 2 hours, and not once did anyone sanitize the tables! -

Chaotic - Stressful - Understaffed

Take my advice. Go work at a grocery store instead. The barista role is too chaotic, stressful, and understaffed to work for minimum wage here. Many of us are currently searching for a new place of employment primarily because this company does not care about its employees. New employees do not stay longer than a week. (As per our last 4 people hired).- extremely understaffed (and not budget to hire more apparently)- leaders often change our schedule 3 days prior, and expect us to adjust our lives for them on the fly.- lunch breaks not always provided (not enough staff, too busy )- product not always available to make all drinks (angry customers)- too busy and not enough employees for us to complete COVID cleaning tasks (wiping down tables, cleaning washrooms, hand-washing). Doesn't feel overly safe. Staff often have masks off.- never get 2 days off in a row. Shifts are very all over the place and not consistent.-angry customers waiting 15 minutes for 1 drink (this is consistent) because we don't have enough staff working. Customers think we do not know what we are doing. We do. We just don't have bodies to do the job.- often have to close the store early because we just don't have employees that want to work. And we get no support from the city close to us, to help with coverage.- drama central! Employees all think they are better than the next employee, nobody is willing to help each other, and everyone is so opinionated. It's like living in a reality TV show. Horrid environment.It is also SO clicky. - everyone looking for another job, don't -
