Starbucks is a unique place to work, great training, perks, benefits, and team. The company wants the most for least (like most corporations) so the job requirements vs the wage doesn’t really align. Management paid horribly especially if your an SM kiss your social life goodbye and Supervisors are not paid nearly enough for the requirements of the job. It’s a great job for students or entry level kids but anyone looking to build a career within the company may find themselves surprised when they acquire a management role.

I think Starbucks is a great place to work. My experience just happens to be terrible one because the head manager who worked at the Starbucks I was at treated me like garbage. She was condescending, rude, mean, insulting...She wasn’t just rude to me. Many employee didn’t like her or were afraid of her and she even made one of the baristas cry. I dreaded working with this manager

I worked at the Starbucks within the Western University campus. It was very fast-paced and my entire team needed to be heavily collaborative and efficient. I learned how to do great work during stressful situations. I enjoyed having team members who were willing to help each other out.

you could do worse, but they will pretend they care about your well being, you'll likely get stressed and sick, but the benefits help slap a bandaid on it

Overall Starbucks is a great company with amazing health benefits. Occasionally it can be hard to balance work and life though, as a lot of people call in sick and shifts can be hard to cover.

Worked at a very busy Starbucks well-comish liked the pace liked the staff. The management was definitely bias if they didn't prefer you. Got great shifts just butted heads with the manager but got along great with the ASM while she was gone for about 3 months.

For the highly demanding and tedious work baristas are faced with, the pay is not all that great. It's an ok job if you are a student or in between jobs, but definitely NOT a career choice. Management is also not the greatest.

The customers where often times rude. Tip out is based off how many hours you get in a week (I barely made $10) co-workers can be quite rude and condescending.

Excellent people and training. Environment was dynamic and positive. Hours were sporadic at times, but this is the case in retail during low seasons. Overall excellent experience, and I learned what I wanted to learn.

I loved my job and my coworkers but my store manager was ineffective and the entire store suffered for it. Multiple times higher ups were contacted with absolutely no change.

Never be a manager. Terrible higher ups. Terrible hours. Must meet sales targets or get disciplined but expect customers to pay $10 for a coffee the competitor is offering at $1. Goodluck

The job is very fast-paced and having to focus on several things at once is hard but with practice, it becomes easier but still very stressful and can be very challenging at times. I would not recommend this job for a person with anxiety.

I thought I’d enjoy it but the location I worked at in Ontario was poorly ran with the GM picking favourites, was up for a promotion and so was another employee, Starbucks rules to my knowledge at the time was staff members especially management and the other person was promoted and “secretly” dating the assistant manager

My experience there was fun and the co workers I had were very understanding and helping with teaching all of the drinks you have to make. It got a little intense at lunch rush but when you got into the habit of things its fun. Great place of work.

not great for anyone who works for a living. Not bad if you are a student. on more than one occasion management received a cash tip for baristas I had to train.

Overall it was a fun place to work, it took a while to get used to the tasks but once you do its easy. Making drinks is fun, and the customers are fairly nice. But the staff itself were all very high maintenance and don't help you out that much when you're new and struggling. And it was a pretty bad environment at times due to staff conflict. But when everyone was getting along it made for a very enjoyable day at work.

The activities you do in a shift are continuously changing. This is good because you do not get bored that way. You can be working on the cash register, making drinks, cleaning and preparing bases.

Loved working for such an amazing company. A typical day was very busy so I had to be prepared and quick to make the customers happy. Management was great and easy to talk to for advice. Most enjoyable part of job was making customers happy.
