Starbucks

Was lucky to work with good people, nice perks and it’s great for students with flexibility of schedule but also can be difficult getting enough hours. Barista position is a part-time.

Not the worst, dont stick around

If youve worked for grocery stores or other big retailers than starbucks is a step up; the pay is usually the same but the benifits are worlds better and can easily and affordably include family. however the culture is cult-ish and management is hit or miss. Ive had amazing supportive managers and others less so. Good oppertunities for advancement if you are willing to take on the extra responsibilities that go beyond the bump in pay.

Good Place to Work

Starbucks is a great employer, managers can be hit or miss depending on how they get trained, it's the customers are co-workers who make up for it, most of the time! They offer hours depending on your schedule (most of the time, but you can expect to lose some hours depending on the season). The benefits are good, but the hours and customers can sometimes be draining.

Great place to work

As every job, has it's positive's and negative's. Free bag of coffee every week, great benefits, free drinks while on shift, tuition reimbursement. Can be very stressful at times.

Fun workplace

Met a lot of great coworkers and they made the job fun. Shifts where easy to fit into life and there are always ways to pick up shifts at other stores if you want more hours

Points positifs

Free drinks

Points négatifs

Standing long hours

good benefits, good part time job

- excellent training and benefits if you work minimum hours. definitely recommend for those looking for a first part time job in school.-at times was hard to balance work and school, due very early morning shifts and late night shifts.-fairly high turnover due to the nature of hiring students, sometimes understaffed.

Corporate is deceptive to new hires and dismissive of its employees

Starbucks seems to have great benefits (if you qualify). Unfortunately, they avoid scheduling you enough hours to qualify in an attempt to cut labor costs. Complaints are often dismissed, forcing you to pick up shifts at other stores in your area. Travel is not reimbursed. There is a lot of pressure from corporate that is enforced by managers to meet drive thru times, customer connection scores, and the like. The lack of consideration and restraint on what a customer can demand plus the lack of support for baristas, paired with the culture they have fostered leads to immense mental and emotional strain. Physically, the job isn't the worst. But this culture mandated by corporate forms the base of every store, and exists even with the best manager and coworkers present.

Points positifs

If you qualify: free drinks on shift, discounts, stocks

Points négatifs

Corporate culture, unreasonable expectations, understaffing

Good Job Overall

Having worked at a few other fast food places in my life, Starbucks was probably the best. The free drinks were great perks, and my coworkers were all really nice. I did feel a bit micromanaged however, and “grey” area does not really exist in their workplace. But clearly it works for the business, it’s just my personal preference.

Points positifs

Free drinks, can easily make friends with coworkers

Points négatifs

Strict schedules and rules to follow

Bad management will ruin it all

If my manager wasn't my manager , I would have loved it. Promised things, which were never given. Given less hours than promised. Did not abide by schedule restrictions. Manager was never available, took them a week to get back to a past staff member about their resignation. I was improperly trained and made to feel bad about it, as were others. And a current supervisor is now looking to quit because of that same manager at that location. From my experience, the staff is always walking on egg shells and no one ever feels like they're doing a good enough job. Never fun in an already very stressful environment!

Fast-Paced Environment

Starbucks is hit or miss. The managers really make it or break it. I worked at two stores, one of which closed due to COVID. My manager was strict and it felt hard to communicate with him because of how scary he came off, LOL. It is a VERY fast-paced environment and you’re expected to run around and connect with customers, regardless of how much stuff you have to do. For $15, compared to other jobs, Starbucks demands way too much.

Fun work place if you have good managers. Good benefits

Used to love working here under good management. Ever since management got changed things went down and they only cared about money. Lots of drama depending on store

Excellent training and benefits/pay

They give great training and the wages they give are above average the benefits are also very good; you can earn raises depending on how long you’ve been with the company. However it can be very stressful and fast paced you need to be able to keep up. Promotion isn’t exactly fair you could work five years and be an amazing barista but won’t be promoted or gain extra experience. Whereas someone who’s only been with the company 3 months can earn a promotion faster then you.

Points positifs

Benefits/wage

Points négatifs

Hard to gain new experience

Great for students

I’ve worked at 2 different locations being lucky that both had great managers and other partners. Scheduling is great if your a student and overall a good environment where you learn lots.

Points positifs

Free drinks on shift, Discount, Scheduling

Points négatifs

Pay Very busy at times

Fast paced

The location I was at was always busy but I really enjoyed it. I got a free drink every shift which I also really liked. Made a lot of good friends and was good for school.

Great place to work and very social atmosphere. Very interesting to learn about learning the basics of drinks and becoming a barista. The customers are great and it's a fast paced environment.

Need lots of better condition

I got a raise, then they cut my hours.Staff we're nice, customer we're terribleExpect a drive time but "we're not a fast food" Got a bonus during COVID but apparently COVID was only 6 month out of 2 years.

Points positifs

Free drink

Points négatifs

Management is out of touch with reality

Hoesntly stress full and understaffed 24/7

I don't think I could ever find a worse place to work. Customers are always yelling about they're drinks taking to long when they order 5 plus customizations and store managers care more about the customer score than they do about you, and the customer score will never go up as long as every store is understaffed

Good benefits

Starbucks is a good poace to work at. Although it’s hard at first to learn to do all types of drinks and memorize them, it gets easier and there are flexible shifts. You get good benefits and they pay an amount of your tuition.

Poor management but fun work & free drinks

The best part about the job is the free coffee. The worst is the management. The schedule was so poorly done I constantly had to get people to cover shifts for days I had booked off. The other employees were fun to work with and I didn't mind the job at all but because of the poor scheduling we were always short-staffed, making wait times longer and customers angry leading to a really stressful work environment

Points positifs

free coffee before shift on breaks & after shift

Points négatifs

really hard to book time off
