No more social life
Senior Data Analyst (Employé actuel) –  Montréal, QC16 novembre 2019
You will be out into a 6-2 block where you'll have to say goodbye to your social life. Especially if your a student, this will be a very difficult job to balance ur schooling with. The management doesn't care. Since they let go of most of their experienced worker's and brought in a bunch of new people, it's obvious they care about quantity rather than quality. I'd stay away from this company.

A Shining Example of How Poor Management Can Undermine a Great Company
Sports Video Analyst (Ancien employé) –  Montréal, QC16 octobre 2019
Sportlogiq used to be an amazing place to work at for students, young adults and sports fans, but with the start of the 2019-2020 hockey season came changes to management and company policies, none of which have proven to be beneficial to the common worker.
The mere concept of flexible scheduling was thrown out the window when shift blocks were implemented. Those lucky enough to work the morning block only have to sacrifice their weekends, while those who end up with the 6PM-2AM block see their entire life outside of obliterated, making a mockery of the "work-life balance (really)" advertised on the Why Join Us tab of the company.
Management made the decision to wipe out half of the senior workforce during the offseason and replace them with new hires. They chose to hire quantity rather than quality, then were left puzzled when only a quarter of trainees were capable of performing to a satisfactory level. The workforce, approximately the same size as the year prior, only with less experience, is no longer able to meet deadlines as demand for the company's product increases. Rather than accept responsibility for their short-sighted actions, management chooses to deflect the blame onto the understaffed workforce, completely oblivious to the extra work senior employees are being forced to put it to make up for the absence of experience.
Moving up in the company is no easy feat. Management seems intent on dredging up anything they can from seasons past to keep experienced, well liked, hard working employees out of leadership roles, instead opting for new trainees who haven't
plus... worked long enough to run afoul of the laughably strict attendance policy.
Until there is a change in management, I'd recommend to stay away from Sportlogiq, as the slightly better than average pay is not worth the mental and emotional stress.

Great Coworkers but management is headed in a downward spiral
Senior Hockey Eventor (Employé actuel) –  Montréal, QC11 octobre 2019
After obliterating over half the staff from last season and implementing terrible work protocols that slow down efficiency, management makes a point of blaming the entire staff for slow work, while senior employees receive zero recognition for the amount of extra work they have to do due to the lack of experience. It is common practice to promote trainees over experienced workers that have been working for the company for multiple years for incredibly thin reasons. Employees that are locked into terrible 6-2AM shifts, due to their new and terrible hour blocks, are paid the same amount as employees who only have to available from 9-5. These are a few of many major issues here.
This used to be a fun and easy going work environment, but changes in management have ruined it. This is not a fun place to work anymore

Very Good
Junior Soccer Data Analyst (Ancien employé) –  Montréal, QC10 octobre 2019
Work and life balance is very good because you can submit schedule requests and follow them. There is no work stress. You do what you need to do and leave. I think the salary is not bad.
It is a very friendly environment and if you like sports, it will be fun. Overall, I think management is good.

Everyday you will do the same task.
Sport vedio analyst (Employé actuel) –  Montréal, QC3 octobre 2019
They just let you do the same task. Nothing new, and you will not learn new skills. No paid vaction. No sick days. If you have an emergency issue and not available to work maybe you will loss you job ! Not easy to have unpaid vacation. You may work until 2am ( this is normal). The break is unpaid. If you worked more than 6 h, you will have 15 min break.

The work itself is very fun if you like hockey, it gets a little repetitive though. Some iffy promotions being handed out and occasional nepotism didnt help. Anyone who made the slightest of waves had their hours dwindle down to nothing over the next couple of schedules. All in all they're in it to wring as much out of you, often to the detriment of their employees.

good job if you're looking for repetitive work
Sport Data Analyst (Employé actuel) –  Montréal, QC15 juillet 2019
Working at sportlogiq is nothing special. you will constantly be given the same work assignments. so if you like a new challenge every day this isn't the place for you.
Work environment is great, lots of new friends to make. However management is a hit or miss. Some managers know how to lead people and sincerely try their best. Others don't care at all. But that is something every work has.
If you're looking for a job that has advancements, then this isn't the place for you. The reality is that they don't give promotions to those that are qualified, they give them to the people who work the most amount of hours. Like mentioned earlier, that is why you have some people in management that shouldn't really be there.
Points positifs
flexible hours, free coffee, nice co workers
Points négatifs
repetitive work, management, advancement

great place to work for salaried employees, not so much for the common worker.
QA (Employé actuel) –  Montréal, QC9 avril 2019
SPORTLOGiQ claims to be a modern work environment with flexible hours, which is true for about 10% of the employees. The rest are overworked, understaffed and forced to work every single weekend day as well as most tuesday and thursday nights until 2 AM. There is no leniency with management, and promotions are given to those who work the most hours in a year, your qualifications mean nothing. What I will say is that the working culture is fun. You have great coworkers who are in the same position as you and the work isnt especially hard, just the long hours with nothing but grey walls to look at gets unbearable at times. If youre in the upper echelon of employees, you get food, drinks, flexible hours and an awesome work environment on the top floor. If you are not, you get grey walls, long hours with no flexibility, and sit on a bottom level floor with hundreds of other disgruntled employees. HR essentially pushes you under the rug when you have a concern, and management is people who essentially just worked more than other people and have little to no qualifications to be in the positions that they're in. Like I said, the ones who work with you are great - there are great employees at the company. However, management and owners are clueless about their staff and have created a divide between the common worker and the privileged upper-tier worker and it does not take long for the place to drain you. If you are applying for a top tier position, I highly recommend working here as it seems like an awesome place to work. If you are applying for a regular position, although it seems  plus... super cool to work in sports and data, it will quickly drain you and make you realize that the workload and inflexibility is not worth it - you can make the same money elsewhere with much better hours and working conditions.  moins

Exciting Company, Poor Advancement
Senior Data Analyst - Ice Hockey (Employé actuel) –  Montréal, QC5 février 2019
Overall the company is well run however there is little room for advancement and as a result much of the talent is leaving. At the lower levels the company places 0 value on formal education or hockey related experience.

Fun, easy going workplace
Data Entry Agent (Ancien employé) –  Montréal, QC22 janvier 2019
The workplace culture is definitely the best part of the job. Everybody is happy to be part of the team and communication is the team's strongest asset, you can ask anybody any question and they will be there to help you out. Management is understanding of people's lives outside of work and are willing to give you the time off as long as you give warning. The hours are long but seem to fly by everyday as you are surrounded by great people.
Points positifs
Close to restaurants if you did not bring food.
Points négatifs
overnight hours.

The first thing I noticed when I started at SPORTLOGiQ was the friendly and supportive atmosphere. It's clear that everyone works together to achieve an end goal, whether it's a weekly goal or a new product launch. The leaders are inspiring and caring. They genuinely care about their teams.
Points positifs
Flexible work schedule, loads of yummy treats, research time, great location
