Friendly and enjoyable job. Always some work to be done like clean, stock up, put returns away, answering phones and communicating with customers who need help. Great management and communication towards the employees.

working at Sport Chek was very fun everyone was very kind and very approachable. the benefits were great too, half to a quarter price off products and the products are great....gonna miss working for you guys. thank you for the amazing work experience.
Worked as a cashier. Very fast paced but relaxed at the same time. Great coworkers and management. Hardest part was doing returns because they took the longest to do and would keep up the line. Other than that, awesome place to work
Typical minimum wage, retail job but usually with great management that hire nice, accepting, fun people. Discount is amazing! Easy to get time off...
Discounts and never a hassle when needing time off
Not a normal schedule, usually one day off between shifts, not paid enough for the work we do and the people we're expected to put with

learned many useful things such as customer service, inventory counts, some cash experience, and lots of knowledge on the products being sold. coworkers were wonderful and the overall environment was good however the managers are consistently critical, condescending, and are not at all understanding. part of the reason I quit was a lack of understanding between me and my manager .
good experience and training
-Being a clothing advisor, you just fold, organize and maintain cleanliness in your department and you're expected to ensure every customer is greeted and helped if needed. -Working more than 5 hours definitely feels like time isn't moving, especially because they enforce the "rule" workers aren't to chat with one another. makes working very lonely, sometimes you'll rely on customers for socialization :( -Discount was great and coworkers are awesome, but management is what gets you. they're great and friendly at first but you see their true colours and how power hungry, condescending and how out of touch they are with employees. they expect everyone to follow the rules but don't do so with themselves. -But the discount is great so i guess thats nice (cost plus 10% but must be regular price, cant stack discounts)
discount is cost plus 10% (thats about half off the ticket price)
management is condescending, advancement is out of the question
A typical day at work involves dealing with customers through giving great customer service. I learned a lot about customer service and how to work well with others as well on my own. I've also acquired the skill of being a fast learner as systems and policies change and how to handle them.
If you like sports this is a great place to be. Your surrounded by all types of sports, there for you meet all types of people that like what you like sports wise and get into great conversations

Sportchek is a job that provides a positive and enjoyable atmosphere as it promotes the importance of health and fitness. As somebody who has a passion for athletics, I enjoy working there. I've learned a lot when it comes to customer service and the importance of providing 10/10 service to every body that walks into our store. Our managers do their best to make our shifts as enjoyable as possible and they work hard in assuring that both their employees and customers are happy. There isn't really a hard part about working in Sportchek, however, the lack of hours available is sometimes frustrating. The most enjoyable part is probably the discount, especially if you're an employee that is also an Athlete.
Not enough hours
