on feet forever
great workplace culture. flexible hours. great management. learned a lot on how to be a good team player. learned about the business aspect of the retail store(when to mark up or mark down a product, price matching, 30 day price guarantee, and other retail/sales techniques)
great employee discounts
Hourly pay is less and no commission. Getting along with staff is easy. Fun place to work as long as your doing your duties right. No commission so no targets that's good.
No daily targets and good discount for employees
No commission and less hourly wage.

- Always engaging with other employees - Learned how to interact with customers and sell to their needs while creating a genuine conversation - Great management, very organized training and instructing - Difficult to learn locations of products in a short amount of time, but fellow team members are incredibly supportive and helpful in this process - Enjoyable to connect with team mates and customers
Fun place to work if you are young, pay was worth it. If you are a good worker they will give you the hours you ask for. Flagship store with a lot of standards to maintain, so don't recommend if you plan on doing nothing as there is always something to do. Management could be better, they mostly do nothing but stand there and tell the full timers to make sure you are doing something. Discount is great, not for launch items though.
Fun work environment
Management does nothing but stand around
Having my first job at Sport Chek was an amazing opportunity because of the tremendous amount of peers I got to interact with. I was able to learn so much from these peers and develop relationships and skills to make myself a better worker. My peers often helped me out and did so in a positive manner and it made me very comfortable within the workplace.
A very sociable work place, where interaction with customer's are key. Breaking down the needs of each individual customer, through conversation was always key. Giving examples of my own experience with any sport/activity, or even anecdotes of people with relevant examples. Through conversations with customers, I've been able to learn from them as well. About innovations and communities revolving around the activity. Everyday things are constantly changing and advancing, so one has to keep up to date.

A typical day at work is a casual flow of customers who need questions to be answered. I have learned how to properly communicate with customers and to sell merchendise exceedingly. Managment and co-workers are well behaved and very responsible. Hardest part of the job is to keep up with the pace of multiple customers in one time frame. The most enjoyable part of the job is when you successfully provided the amount of information needed to complete the sell with the customer.
Decent hours were given for each work day. I learned much information regarding how a job in retail operates, while at the same time improving my communication skills with fellow workers. Management was extremely helpful and friendly, and the overall environment was welcoming. Co-workers were also friendly and worked hard. The hardest part of the job involved the slower days, where all there was to do was stocking shelves and taking inventory. The most enjoyable part of the job was how laid-back the workers and management were.
Good environment, decent hours
The time I spent working here was AMAZING! I started off as a volunteer worker for High School credits and was eventually called back in to join a great staff of team by the store manager as a seasonal staff member.
Doing the ad set-up customer service getting to know what the product is. I've learned a lot about team work customer service product knowledge and being a team leader The management is big team effort you gain a lot of knowledge and you know that your in good hands Our co workers were one big team when one person falls we help pick them up and we all help each other out. The hardest part about my job is the long hours. The most enjoyable part about my job is that you gain new friends you gain a whole new experience on retail.
Achieve and maintain the sales goal per day. I enjoy sports a lot so a benefit is helping people pick the best sporting equipment for themselves. It was fun to meet and greet customers and help them with their sporting needs.
