As an employee at Sodexo for 8 years, a typical day started at 8:00 a.m. with my colleagues. I started out as a housekeeper and moved on as a team lead and supervisor. The remote site was multicultural with a great ambiance.and respectful.

This unit is inside Canadian Tire's warehouse in Bolton, ON. I would say this is a great place to work. Work environment is so relaxing. I love doing my job here. Everyone is so helpful. We work like a family!!

The job itself;
It's cleaning, as long as you do the job to the minimum it's easy. Though with the already problematic atmosphere of the health industry, there are a lot of factors that lodge a wrench in it. Not all nurses/other staff respect you, patients can move across the hall one day and then back a few days later(adding more work for you). If the previous worker stationed there cleaned more lax than you, that once again adds more work for you. Supplies aren't always available, the linen area is lacking extremely with the amount of staff that is out in the hospital(which even then is still short). Management will tell you that they will notify you when cloths or mops are available only not to(This has happened on numerous occasions)


If you don't have a posting, things get even more hectic. There will be practically no consistency of where you're sent and when(sometimes even if you do have a posting, there is always a possibility to be moved, because of how short staffed this location is).


The management;

The job seems to be a revolving door, people leaving in fits and newcomers coming almost every other week. There is a reason for this. There's an overall impression from the managers that you are a cleaner and that's it. It's very unlikely that when someone calls in sick, that the position will be filled by someone else if there are already workers on the floor. There's a short of staff but it doesn't seem that the managers have an idea of where people are needed. This short of staff coupled with a high turnaround rate you would think then that the management would

Good-ish wage, some good co-workers, if you get a decent posting with decent people the overall job is managable
Points négatifs
apathetic management, almost daily asks to extend shift or pick up more, managment don't seem to communicate with eachother(leading to important info not being shared), emotionally taxing at times, physically demanding(especially if you care)

Well used...and abused you will do your best and the upper management will take it as there own so they can look good when then are useless money grabbers Sad really.

Company is exclusively focused on 'bottom line' and following repetitive, useless 'audits' to fulfill contract, at the expense of managing people, services, client satisfaction.

It gave an excellent balance between school and work . It can be face paced between midday and late evening. You must be able to remain positive no matter what. As well as you must read the standard operating procedures after your physical training so that anything missed you can learn through reading.

The cafeteria was pretty straight forward and the hours are pretty good but the pay is not much. Management is not good. Too much paper work. Lots of rules and regulations that nobody follows and management does little to enforce unless head office shows up, then it's lipstick on a pig. I was employed as a kitchen supervisor and worked there for 5 years. Only stayed that long because the hours where good.

Enjoyed serving our client and a very productive team members
Very helpful and enjoyable working environment. Learn how to prepare coffee from the barista, preparing event orders and meeting up the clients. profit and loss and month-end closing by taking the closing stock and managed the restaurant and bar. The management is fairly helpful towards the team.Nothing to descript on the hardest part of the job. Work as a team to get the operating runs smoothly without fail.

I really enjoyed working in the Energy and offshore division. I was taught lots, given all expenses paid, had autonomy and was respected. I took leadership training, was encouraged to use linke other collaborative means to promote women in the workplace and I was on a team to collaborate with others for strategic business planning. It was a good division in the company.

Sodexo was a great company to work for in the chevron building, with positive attitudes and a willingness to grow and take up as many responsibilities as possible for the client.
I appreciate the variety of skills sodexo gave me the oppurtunity to gain, and there willingness to provide top safety training.

Pay was not great for how hard you work.
My experience was with a lot of mean, gossipy women which ended up being a bad reflection on the company seeing as we worked with all other services within the hospital.

Good experience very big on health and safety And very good benefits , A lot of paperwork and routine make you forget the basic rule and work depend on who is your superior if you are lucky you get one of the good ones .

The job is easy enough. But they like to pile extra work on you and expect it all to be completed. If you do the give more work the next time to the point it's not possible to complete.

Too many managers, problems are compounded and insulated due to lack of correct and accountable leadership. Empty promises with no follow through. Only family, or friends has chance of advancement. Health and safety is non existent and disconnected from reality. Overall if you have no other options this company might be a interm job.

Enjoyed working there. Loved my job but management sucked! Competitive wages; benefits; good hours. Loved the heavy work load (I like to be busy). Not very good leadership. Sodexo as a company is good to work for.

Horrible place. "Supervisor" has zero people skills and has no problem belittling staff in front of customers.
Refused to allow gloves or masks in the middle of the pandemic. Disgraceful.
