Wiper/ house keeper in London, ON
Terrible place to work
I got hired on a temp basis I worked in other industries cleaning so I have plenty of other experience but yet although I did my job and worked my butt off I was let go and fired for calling the office asking for more hours because the scheduler does not know how to do her job and I was supposed to be working full time not 3 days a week the supervisors are a joke and will put you down for asking how to do things and the lady at the office is nice during training then is rude once you start working here this whole company is a joke and I wish I never applied for a job here if anyone asks GO FIND SOMETHING ELSE anything else would be better then working here I didn't even get notice I was being let go until I showed up for my shift I did all the work plus extra work and still was let go and they won't tell you a reason. The supervisors don't help new people at this job at all you are trained by someone that's new them selves for 1 day then let loose to do what ever don't waste your time. Don't expect to last long if you question anything especially work hours given simply put if they don't like you you won't be there long the supervisors are not supportive and will belittle you if you make a mistake instead of teaching you they talk a great game when training you then once your trained and actually working the smoke and mirrors goes away and you see things for what they are even the union rep says they are a terrible employer.

the biggest issue I have with Sodexo is the salary not in keeping with the price of living, Current work environment is very good friendly positive etc
General Manager in Ontario
Need a change of Corporate Management
Politicized atmosphere. You know somebody you are fine, if you don't know anybody then slog it out. Different rules for managers. Some work a fantastic schedule ( remote sites ) and some have to work a different rotation. No fairness at all. You have to work with General Managers who can barely even speak English and were directly made General Managers at Sodexo from grocery store managers. All because they knew some corporate managers. They have no clue about hospitality.
Great employer for somethings
You are very busy lots to learn but can be stressful when you get lack of support from the manager you report too and it take forever to get any answers
