Je crois que l'entreprise perd de son lustre. Elle utilise maintenant les mêmes tactiques qu'ailleurs soit des promesses vides pour en obtenir plus de la part des juniors. Salaire à l'embauche intéressant mais les augmentations sont moindres que l'augmentation du coût de la vie... passe.

Great coworkers in Calgary but upper management in Edmonton were out of touch. Very long hours as they tried to maximize the time spent out of the office. Loved what I did, just didn't like the bureaucracy behind the scenes.

I worked there for 6 years. I would do it again. Friendly intelligent people, great work atmosphere, food and lodging taken care of, gym to work out, games room. Lots to do.

Unless you have the credentials and drive to climb the management ladder, you should probably give this a pass. If you just want your steady job and your secure place as a team member without getting into the corporate cultural race (because your life is more than your job), there are much better places for you than SNC. You are always expendable at SNC.

Typical day at start was drive around fixing guardrails with others.Workplace culture was terrible. employees were unprofessional at times. Especially certain worker who belittle me and gave hard time for being new.Pay was great and having 3 days off was good. on-call 24/7

One of the best engineering company but senior management for Oil and Gas is especially in Canada is not showing interest, what they learned is not adopted. They favour some team mates instead of accepting them...

It is what is expected of an Engineering firm. You only are safe if the company has projects. The company pay relocation and give good layout severance. The environment is as good as the people in your project. I made good friends and have good time at SNC Lavalin T & D.

90% of the employee are spending 5-6 hrs./day in office rumours, politics, back stabbing.A typical day at work includes 50% doing other peoples job.Avoid unless you are starving.

Worked with multi-disciplinary team designing construction work packages from conception stage to the detailed engineering, and construction stage. On-site work is also done in field visits, and confirmation of equipment.

Employment is typically contract, so when the contract ends your position might end too. The company has a good training program and can be a fun place to work. You could however end up on a team with difficult management. If you end up on a team like that don’t expect to get anywhere, that type of team environment is strictly who you know not what you know. Not all teams are that way, but many are. This industry is project based so you could wind up unemployed once projects are completed.

Watch out the bullies out there! SNC can not be profitable without dirty money in the mix. Lack of skills, vision and also leadership. Toxic politics rule this firm. Management has no vision and is short term oriented. No former SNC exec has shine elsewhere following their tenure at SNC. We never hear from them ever. They all go back home and watch Netflix. Pure lack of talented professionals...Everyone trying to save their jobs. Second guessing, politics, unproductive noisy meetings.They need a major cleaning from top to bottom. It is very inefficient and shocking. I felt in the 1970s when I first walk into the firm. Very low skilled over paid professionals playground.

They kept me on contract for two years without having to pay me above min. Wage even though I was promoted. The last year I was there, it was every three months a renewed contract and then it went to 1 month at a time until they sold our division to Brookfield.

It's all about profit and nothing more. There's 0 investment in employee programs or benefit. The management is constantly fighting each other impending you to do your basic job. There's big lack of leadership skills within senior management and excecs. I've seen discrimination against minorities and women at headquarters and project office levels. Avoid this company!

Stressful workplace. They not want to pay for training for you to advance in their company (ie government certification which would make you more qualified for your job). When they advertise for a “offshore NDT position” make sure you get it in writing that you will be on a three on three off rotation (which they will not do, and this will be your red flag that this position doesn’t actually exist and you will be in a call out position “ADHOC”) as all the regular rotation positions are filled. ADHOC positions could possibly be called out once every few months or more. On shore “NDT” positions consists of a 95% visual labor intensive job pulling slings (metal wire rope) with very little actual NDT work. Management (onshore job) will lie to you and say when there’s no NDT work you will be doing visual inspections in the sling yard which will be 95% of the time as this is most/all the onshore work they have.

Enjoyed working at a great Canadian organization which operates in 40 plus countries . Management was excellent and they focused on growing the business but also taking care of its employees.
