To qualify for benefits you need to be working full time as 40 hours per week. You will pay every month for your benefit what is not very cheap and not very good coverage.

It took me myself a few weeks maybe around 3 or 4 in total to get the full benefits (the discount) but mostly because the employees are lazy. They could do it much faster

A Store SA can never be sure of his benefits as he only does part time in say 2 or 3 stores. SAs are at mercy of Associates.
