A lot of group work and training. Multimillion dollar equipment. Excellent lunch options. Clean working environment. Friends and companionship are a must.
Working with multimillion dollar equipment.
They have flexible time schedules which allow students to retain their study time table and focus on studies while earning some extra. the work environment is healthy which makes you enjoy working.

Try getting a bank loan if you just work from contract to contract. Even if you work for years, why should a bank support you if you your job won’t even claim you as one of theirs? Don’t get into academics! The union agreement says partial load jobs have job security, but because there are so many new full timers, which they did NOT hire from partial load, there are fewer and fewer partial load jobs. Management is sympathetic, they will even shed tears when they offer you fewer and fewer hours. If you are faculty, there is no path to promotion.
Not sure anymore
Part time faculty are place fillers and not valued
Being an intern, the employer offered me multiple opportunities to experience growth in the fields of business other than Procurement/Purchasing. The employer allowed me to apply the knowledge acquired in the course of the study term, particularly of auditing, balancing the accounts and analysis. The employer appreciated the suggestions put forward during team meetings and recognized my work instead of taking the credit for it.
Learned alot from being at Sheridan particularly in alternative energy and what Canada has in resources,Did a bit of everything from soldering, to putting in new service panels, trouble soot motors, even help worked on building a solar training equipment for students to work on in school. Part of the Government's Low Carbon Initiative. It was hands on which i enjoyed very much. i worked there on my free time between classes and sometimes stayed late to complete the task i was doing.
always something to learn new
sometimes waiting on materials to arrive or delayed
it was very relaxed physically. didn't have to lift heavy items, sat at a desk 90% of the time and did basic tasks which where actually fun enough to do and relaxing as well. lots of students are super kind as well. The management and full time staff however.... are questionable.
Being a Peer Mentor was an amazing experience. This is one I would encourage all students to apply for. I was able to work one on one with students, guiding them to success over their semesters. I helped students manage their study and personal time and find a balance that best suited everyone. It was a rewarding position.
helping students succeed, helping students understand assignments, manage their time and much more.
no cons this job was wonderful
I started working here to gain some exposure at the workplace in general and experience interacting with various students. My job title was International Student Ambassador and all I did was guide and help new international students get situated in their schedules and orientation at Sheridan.
Flexible work hours
Enjoyed working with management team and students to create a comfortable and safe teaching environment. Given flexibility to teach using curriculum and guidelines learned through education. Provided courses to enhance learning.
