Avis d'employé sur Sheridan College
Toxic culture of top-down managment
Nobody comes to work. The offices are empty. No collegiality. Union passes veiled threats of laying off full-time faculty during COVID-19 when management might do some self-reflection on why there are so many of them with tyrannical management styles, incompetent leadership in times of crisis so many that warrant preferred parking spaces.

Wonderful, motivated students 👍) positive learning environment! ♥️
Management can make judgement through hearsay, gossip- layers of buroucracy b4 you get through anyone. Talent, motivation, initiative are not nurtured; innovative ideas barely fostered due to managers' own insecurity.
I would not work here again.
Points positifs
Pay
Points négatifs
No progression/ poor management
Try getting a bank loan if you just work from contract to contract. Even if you work for years, why should a bank support you if you your job won’t even claim you as one of theirs?
Don’t get into academics! The union agreement says partial load jobs have job security, but because there are so many new full timers, which they did NOT hire from partial load, there are fewer and fewer partial load jobs. Management is sympathetic, they will even shed tears when they offer you fewer and fewer hours.
If you are faculty, there is no path to promotion.
Points positifs
Not sure anymore
Points négatifs
Part time faculty are place fillers and not valued
A lot of group work and training. Multimillion dollar equipment. Excellent lunch options. Clean working environment. Friends and companionship are a must.
Points positifs
Companionship
Points négatifs
Working with multimillion dollar equipment.
