Incredibly sexist, extremely poor mangement, favorites off the charts, extremely low employee morale. Literally some people get away with anything while others get hauled in. To the office for petty, stupid complaints. No future for female employees, unless you kiss management btt you will not get treated fairly at all.
Sexism, favoritism, extremely old school mangement, refusal to address i ssues, slander and harassment from management pets.
Overall a good company. The people to work with are friendly and management for the most part is organized
It’s an excellent company to work for in a union based organization. There is excellent training and the ability to advance in salary and position. They offer good benefits and the overall culture is positive in a fast paced environment. They strive for safety over production
Good pay, benefits, good people
Long hours and frequent lack of work

An excellent place of employment. Loved my position there, however in today' economy had to close Regina office down. Shaw enables you to have ownership of your work responsibilities and tasks in addition to accepting your ideas and comments.
Management and coworkers don’t like women working around them. They are the first out when cut backs and will easily be shuffled around. Do not bring up ideas to management in front of group in meetings although they ask what issues are
Work is based on 10 hrs shift/day in a 4 day work period with Friday as off day.. Occasional overtime on weekends possible. Day and night shifts are scheduled. Work culture was good.. Teamwork was very positive. Multi-tasking very common. It was fun working at Shaw Pipe.
Great and fun place to work. Tasks are very easy, consider long hours of standing in most sections. However, job security is very poor as jobs are dependent on external contracts.
It pays you reasonable salary. It is unionized company. After a while you will have good insurance coverage. The tasks are a little bit difficult. It is project base job ones you are done with the project you may be laid off till the next project.
Worked for the company for 25 years. Finished my apprenticeship there and worked my way up to lead hand of maintenance. Enjoyed the many challenges of building 2 plants and bring in new methods.
The people that I worked with
I worked at the bottom then slowly went fron yard to jeeper then went on to tally the pipe was good work experinces worked shift work was always working in a team player atmosphere i loved it happy family
working in a team
put protective coatings on various size and length steel pipes for the oil and gas industry.a very busy and fast paced enviorment also worked in all areas of plant
hot and noisy
A typical work day starts with a meeting with crew. The previous day work is reviewed, talk about safety and reassign of duty if / when necessary. Management and workplace culture is a friendly one where there is mutual respect for each other. Its a fun place to work with lots of benefits and to some extent, a flexible work time.
Work can be very fast paced at times and very slow at other times. This being the case the job can be very tiring, but it can also be quite boring when there is lots of downtime. In the time that I worked there, there was lots of opportunity for overtime work. The union at Shaw pipe is a good one and the pay and benefits are good.
I would prefer not to rate my previous employers in order to post a resume. However, I would be happy to have a conversation regarding my opinions face to face.

good overtime and pay, union job
slow work in summer
Liked working here for a year until things changed and new staff was brought in, The drive from my house was so far and not worth it. The branch was not busy and time went by really slow. My managers were a little "off" (been there too long)
Easy job, not busy
Not busy, too easy
