Organization is so cheap. On the one hand they aren't willing to give an increase of even .25 cents to keep a highly skilled employee but will spend thousands of dollars in staff turnover. The organization speaks about how employee engagement is a main priority but most team building events are dedicated to managers and events open to all staff have "us" vs. "them" mentality.

At first this place seems like it's peaches and cream but then you realize once the curtains been pulled back how backstabbing the company really is with the Care at home three very unprofessional managers who swear a lot and if they don't get their way have a temper tantrum and threaten you very toxic
They lied from the start and never stopped, The saying clients come first is wrong money does. They said they got your back yet still trying to get the knife out of mine. Loved the clients (most of them) and staff at Parkland , but if i was Shannex would take a good look at how CAH is managed and ask myself why they cant keep or get workers.
Lack of workers, lack of things provided for care, Lack of time given to have people ready, lack of attention given to concerns for the workers and residents.
great hardworking staff

The best part of the job is talking to the residents, helping the residents and making the residents feel like you are all a big family. The worst part is the workplace culture most people you work with are great but some can make working there absolutely miserable.
As team leader with a large group of staff members, and a large group of residents, a typical day at work can be very busy. I loved working at Harbourstone, I had been with the company for almost 25 years, and have seen many changes. I learned so much with this company. The client is always first, it is their home, and we worked at their home to ensure they had a great day. Taking care of their personal needs, their medical needs, emotional needs, and spiritual needs. I always enjoyed seeing the clients content, be it with their families, or with the staff.
I have always loved working in long-term care. I love leading our team towards our short and long term goals. Seeing the team working together, for the benefit of our residents, is very satisfying. Providing optimum care and ensuring the residents are comfortable and content, is always the goal. Making it a feeling of "home", is just what the staff do. The hardest part of the job is working without sufficient numbers of staff. This only makes it more difficult for the other team members. The most enjoyable part of my job is seeing the resident content in their home. Seeing them making friends, communicating with others, participating in activities, and thriving as best as they can.
Shannex was the worse place to work . The management is the worse.. You worked short 90 percent of the time and this became a normal and no one seem to care. The lack of communication in this place is awful.. If you get hurt you're on you'e own they are more worried about pushing you back to work then fixing your injury
always working short
amazeing place to come to work, beutiful grounds, lovely staff, and residents that are warm and kind and so appreciated. everything that i said previously can be said about the management team as well, but with many antonyms.
wages, and residents
Management expect you to work yourself to the bone for little pay. Lots of drama in the workplace and managers and staffing openly gossip about employees in front of workers
The residents are sweet and make it rewarding.
Expect to get called in alot. Gossip. Low pay.
Management isn't the best but the clients and other staff make it fun - management could improve - too many hands in the pot. Professional all the same. the clients make the job.
not enough staff
Nothing but pressure and additional work placed on already hard-working, exhausted good staff. And poor staff are somehow rewarded and NEVER held accountable for not doing their work. Lazy, hands-off managers who have no respect or compassion for residents. Worst professional work experience in a 25 year career.
Some good, caring, helpful staff
Lousy, dishonest, uncaring management right to the top, exhausting with no support
it is great work experience other than the scheduling system, mandatory 2weeks days and 2 weeks evenings is not great with the budget specially if you are just starting a family.
nica and friend team members
long hours of work being short all the time
If you want to work for an employer that makes you say "WTF" every 2 seconds Shannex is for you. They claim, it is clients first nope profits first. Is you have a grand, other or don't put them here
great co workers
management, wages, benefits
I have worked for this company for a few years at different facilities and working in Truro has been by far the best. There is a lot of room for growth within the company. Great benefits and vacation. Highly recommend this to anyone looking to gain experience or to settle into a nice routine at the end of your career.
Management, benefits, vacation time, residents
Salary is not the best
