Loved the clients and most co-workers, it was stressful at times but that is due to the nature The management could have been better and done more for the employees
I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone the management doesn’t care about the staff and would let you burn on both ends and when something goes wrong they are right there to place blame back on staff and not take ownership!!
Great team to work with!!
Management is terrible
Unprofessional from the ground up. Preceptor told me to run on my first shift. Rude coworkers. Thrown under the bus for small things like simply asking a question about treatment of a patient. Don't question anything or you "won't be a good fit" and will be shown the door.
Unprofessional staff, terrible nanagement
New management every few months and the coworkers can be quite nasty. Better care and equipment should be provided for the residents. There is too high of a resident to staff ratio giving us not enough time with the clients cares and ADLs.

Rewarding place to work, it did have its ups and downs...but the upside out did the downside in leaps and bounds.
I started working at Hillcrest Manor in October 1990. The nursing home switched ownership in 1995 I think. It was bought by. Shannex . A new building was built in 2000 and we moved over in 2001 or 2002. I stayed and moved as well. We saw a lot of changes through those years. We provided a safe and comforting place for seniors and others who needed this service. I myself spent most of my working years there in the dementia unit...which can be very challenging at times. As I explained , we provided assistance with daily needs. Getting up, washing up, toileting, help with meals and getting ready for bed etc.
Paid breaks, recognition by managers and clients pay incentives for working nights and weekends.
Long hours..ie 12 hour shifts and often worked short staffed.
The company wasn't bad to work with. But there are few staff or manager does not care about worker benifit or situation. company manager they care if worker keep showing up for work but if worker sick no one care they will just ignore, forgot or does not exist at all.
Depends on staff
Working full-scope as a CCA, you are always on the go. You do not get to spend much, if any, quality time with the clients. You are expected to clean over clean each and every day; be it mopping or dusting and even scrubbing toilets. You are then expected to feed your clients that require feeding. Talk about cross-contamination issues or even infection control!
Newer buildings that are beautiful
Treated like a dog
having laughs and recongnational fun is always a great thing to share from one another, sometimes that is when you learn the most from a person.
Well a typical day at work being a causal mosty would start short handed with staff, reallizing how great the team would pull together and do our best to get everything needed done. Even the RN's and LPN's willing to help the cca's,some went beyound their duties for the residents needs and wants. Time management is very important when there needs to be 2 cca's for lifts turns and transferes.I enjoy the part of the job is, one being only a couple of years doing my work as a cca, what i have acheived on my own with the little things like doing my frist complete bed change, but as my years as an master esthetician and caring through as a cca it is when you make someone feel better about themselves that is what give's you the biggest smile. Teaching them about computer game's. I have no childeren, yet, and the residents are my world, they touch my heart every day and to know at a young age the importants of what life means to a person is the one wish that means the most to be able to achive. I always told the school friends i went to school with is, always go an visite your grandparents even when their not well.
wearing uniforms, making someone feel great about themselves.
yes, when it's 16hr days, being short handed with staff.
