Unsupportive high pressured environment

What is the best part of working at the company?Pay is great, benefits are okayWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?Short staffed, never know who will be there, where you will be sitting or what you will be doing day to day. Very stressful, chaotic. Constant pressure from management to do more. Rush you through training, no proper mentors or co-workers to train with on site with limited support online. Micro management and have to press a button to record how long you are with every client and what service you are providing. Awful experience. Proper accommodations for persons with disabilities not provided. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Chaotic, short staffed, huge amout of poor training all online, no one cares about you or to get to know you, no teamwork, very cold and uncaringWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Never know from day to day where your desk will be, who your co-workers will be or what you will be asked to do. Constant micromanagement built into job and have to account for every moment of the day, although great pay, avoid this at all costs

Perfect for a stable Career

This is a good job if you are looking for a stable place where you are looked after. The pension is strong and the hours are consistent with no over time needed.

Not a great work culture

Too much emphasis on quantity and not enough on quality. Management is very pushy with production expectations and the quality of the work suffers. It takes a very long time to get accommodations put in place. There is not enough training provided to help you succeed in the job. The salary is the best part of the job and that is the reason I have stayed in my position.

Franchement !!!

Points positifs

Horaire un peu flexible et travail de la maison

Points négatifs

30 minutes de repas

Great place to work

I worked for Old Age Security and Canada Pension for over 25 years. Loved the job and coworkers and got to do a wide variety of different jobs over the years. Great salary.

Stressful

pay is decent but comes at the price of your peace of mind. Best to find something suitable for your personality if you are a creative. Or else it becomes old real fast.

Good place to work

Training was good, calls were sometimes difficult but a lot of support provided. Good benefits & leave to take. Supportive management at least for me!

Good Pay, demanding

Demanding position, working remote and being monitored through the day - pay is good but Phoenix pay issues can lead to problems. Management is fairly understanding but would prefer you have no issues that keep you away from work.

If you can’t manage stress or don’t have photographic memory—RUN

Honestly the pay is great. But they don’t give you enough training so by the time you get thrown on real calls you don’t know how to do anything in the systems or what you are supposed to do. If you don’t do good enough within the time period they give you they will not renew your contract and you’ll be out a job. So stressful. I had panic attacks everyday when I was put on the phones for real. I didn’t know what to do or say and I felt like whatever I did wasn’t good enough. Great pay but can’t say much else.

Points positifs

Good pay

Points négatifs

Stressful, not enough training, short breaks, bad mental health, no breather time

Stressful

This job is stressful for the amount you get paid. High turn over rate, the good thing is the job is remote but we will be returning to the office this year. My advice is don’t even start but if you have to good luck you’re going to need it.

Not an easy job.

You are constantly under stress of reviewing the large plethora of procedures before deciding what is applicable to the current call situation. Salary is not even close to the work performed.

Points positifs

Benefits

Points négatifs

Constant Stress

Good work/life balance

Allows you to work remote and time off for family and sick leave is provided. The nature of the work allows you to keep it separate from your personal life and confined to the work day.

Nice place to work

Love it here. Good pay, pension and benefits. Flexible work arrangements and good management. Also a good work life/personal life balance which is rare in today's world.

Excellent training to prepare you for the role

Fast-paced, call centre work. Serving Canadians in the Canada Pension and OAS department. Intense and thorough paid training before ever getting on the phones with clients. Supportive management. Great pay and benefits.

Points positifs

Pension, benefits, management, work from home

Points négatifs

Technical issues tough to deal with from home sometimes

Overall good

Good benefits and regular work hours. The work can become repetitive at times and some client may become irrate or non responsive. Managers and Team Leaders are helpful though sometimes out of touch with the work.

Nothing to complaint

The job is good. Pay well. Remote work. You need to have a sense of adaptation.

Stressful

You get hired as casual and from there, you go in monitoring. They hire a lot of people, train them and after that, it's survival of the fittest. Who ever has no issues learning the material gets and extension and who ever has problems learning it, does not get extended.

Points positifs

Great pay

Points négatifs

no security, very stressful, no idea if you are where you should be in monitoring until it's too late, no benefits nor paid vacation (unless you get a term offer).

good place to work but they have a lot of changes and not enough training.

It is a good place to work but they have a lot of changes and not enough training, they have great salary and benefits but are with the Phoenix payroll system and there are a lot of errors made in your pay that are not caught fast enough.

Good management team and friendly staff

Is a fun place to work. It can be busy at times but there is work/life balance. Good management team and friendly staff. Good compensation and benefit packages.

Service Canada Review

Pros: Good benefits and high pay but well deserved. Cons: Application/Interview process took well over a year and you don’t hear anything between steps, benefits and pay are run horribly everything is always behind schedule and never processed on time it’s like nobody knows what’s going on. Very stressful environment.
