Like any company management had its ups and downs but over all the people and coworkers were great. My only regret was not reaching out more to management when I had to deal with the death of a patient.

Supervisors do nothing to assist with psw concerns and pass blame too quickly. Supervisors have bad attitudes, poor work ethics and threaten their workers. They have more workers quit than they hire and rightfully so. Hats off to the workers that see their worth and leave.

new supervisors and HR are not professional they will also make up stories / lie on their employees if they don't like you to get you out of your job and because they are your superior there is nothing you can do about it ..

Complete and utter lack of transparency.
Hsw 16.50 per client! Not per hour!

I was really proud to start work with saint Elizabeth but they didn't actually meet expectations promised.

a typical day on the job is attending to the client and follow the care plan provided i learned a lot as a HSW (Home support Worker) you not only work with the elderly but you also attend to different diversity and cultures and ages. the hardest part of the job is seeing so many people that are in pain and that can not do things for themselves. and the most enjoyable part was getting to interact with others and create bonds and know that i am able to put a smile on someones face each day.

If you were in the right group of people, you were ok, if not you were snubbed on and not treated very well. Made you not want to come to work it was that stressful

Management and cowardnating need alot of help in understanding & respect towards their co workers.
Learn how to follow and keep medical documents of their employees who are under medical orders from at Dr & not hold it against them !

It was difficult to maintain enough hours to pay the bills. I was forced to pick up hours outside of my availability. Oftentimes, coordinators had favorites and would give the favorites hours first, even if it resulted in paying those favorites overtime, which never made sense. Felt like I was forced out of the position when I was nearing my maternity leave. I went from a 30 hour week to a 13 hour week. I lost my health benefits and had to take early maternity leave because I would get more money on maternity leave. This resulted in less time home with my child once he was born.

Working with saint Elizabeth gave me the opportunity to train and learn about time management between clients getting me prepared for long term care or retirement home

The most frustrating part is the driving. The schedule sometimes is very inefficient due to the excess driving some caregivers do. Some may have a client in the East and is scheduled to go to another client in the West part of town. This wastes time and gas and causes scheduling issues. Although it has been improving, CHW's can always ask for a better schedule ahead of time.

The ONLY good thing about this company are the benefits. You Cannot find better!
The one PSW supervisor is a Monster. They do Not care about their employees. If you don’t like the job they will not have any issues replacing you.

They will bleed you dry with a ton of clients, or they won’t give you anything and you’ll be without work for weeks. PSWs are expendable. The clients make the job, if you Actually care about helping others than this is the perfect job for you, just know that management is horrendous and they will use you, or not use you at all. There is no middle ground.

I felt supported by the coordinators and the supervisors. the staff is great, and the clients are wonderful! great learning opportunities, and advancement opportunities as well

It’s difficult to advocate for seniors when the supervisors do not reply to emails. Stressful to try to help people every day, caregiver burnout is a real thing!

One hour visits, in & out of their homes, & my car. Wear & tear on vehicle. Out in stormy weather.

Staff are rude they want you to work when you are sick always over book so client never know when someone is coming and yell at psw when they arrive
They take on clients and can't full the shift so client is left alone

They don’t care about their clients. They double book clients and they over work you. If you call in sick they don’t care they tell you to try your best to make it to work. I always refuse to work when I was sick as I didn’t want any of my clients getting sick.

Working with at Elizabeth is great because work is usually consistent and the hospitals I have worked in demonstrate a lot of staff teamwork. The only thing I wish was better was the pay which is a starting rate of $17.50 also another thing is when there’s work for patient watch, the angency does not know the type of patient it is so you don’t know what you’re walking into

When I was hired, they helped me to complete my PSW training. They were always there to help. The company has a lot of turn around on staff. In this profession it does anyway.
