I have worked for this company for two years. There have been management issues in the past and your direct leadership makes a big impact on job satisfaction. However, I have found that much of the leadership is fair and ready to listen to concerns. There does need to be a more unified goal among departments and that shows through.
The sense of teamwork in this office has been a highlight. Each team has it's own sense of community and the company does a good job of fostering that and encouraging it to spread throughout.

It is a difficult job to do, filled with difficult decisions. Most stem from staffing challenges. The high-stress nature of working for a healthcare agency that operates 24/7 within an imperfect and frequently changing provincial system, leads to high employee turn-over.

I am thankful for this job and the colleagues I have there. I would not want to stay long-term

Not really a team environment - very toxic. Lots of back stabbing and personal sabotage. It's a stressful job to begin with and when you add that the staff really only look out for themselves and not the team as a whole - it gets very clique-ish and office gossip is bad.

Everything appears to be well during the interview process. Friendly management team and co-workers. However, it is very stressful job, mainly due to accepting too many clients when they do not have enough workers to go into the homes to provide care. Nursing staff are very rude and feel they are better than everyone. They want everything done on their time and have no regard for anyone. The office actually provides many Friday lunches for staff, however they will not provide extra staffing when someone is sick, or on vacation. Training provided is not consistent and they make you train with different people every few days, and each person tells you that someone trained you wrong. SO you are so confused. The staff are very helpful, they are super stressed out. Like most businesses, when you do what they want when they want you are good but as soon as you don't you are under scrutiny.

Training is a lot to take in, if you have no background in this job, it is a lot to learn but you can see it evolve weekly. Once you learn the position, it is a comfortable environment to work in and many people are great here. Lots of laughter and positive co-workers, I enjoy that aspect of being at this office, rarely do people complain.

As a coordinator, a typical day at work is completing emails, answering phone calls and scheduling nurses on a daily basis so that they have their patients and schedules planned out. Direct supervisors are great; fun to work with and offers incentives during work hours. Workplace culture is welcoming, coworkers are a mix of age groups, friendly and very helpful - the epitome of teamwork.

The people and work atmosphere is great. People help you when you need it and the supervisors and management are super helpful and nice. I appreciate the company goals and what we do to help people. However it is extremely stressful. You are dealing with time-sensitive healthcare services for a large area. The starting salary of 17 does not reflect the stress and workload we endure. Not to mention you’re forced to pick up the slack if you don’t have enough team members working that day. The benefits are terrible as well. There are absolutely no room to grow and management does not encourage staff with opportunities.

Well, it was not what I was signed up for. Extremely unprofessional environment in the hammer location. Despite the fact that the company itself is awesome and is very much needed in the community. The company itself is a blessing to society though.

Cons:
- Low pay

- No real opportunities for advancement

- Can never get on top of the work. Always felt like I was behind or could keep up

- Dingy office - not a nice atmosphere (harsh lighting, small staff room, uncomfortable office cubicles)

- Clients were usually upset when they called in


Pros:

- Managers and coworkers were nice and had good spirits

- Casual/PT workers usually had good opportunities to pick up more shifts

Typical day consists of a high volume of calls, sometimes greatly uneven. Work place culture is very reactive and not proactive to issues. Long term solutions are rarely carried out and a high employee turnover.

I worked as a Service Coordinator for approx one month. Was told training is extensive and supportive. My training included being handed a few sheets of paper to follow.......told go to it and ask if you have any questions. Problem is when asking questions was told to read the papers, which were inadequate and missing information or why don't you know that answer. Completely understaffed regularly, colleagues were unprofessional off the phone, swearing, coming to work intoxicated and wearing dirty clothes. Supervisor was incompetent and unapproachable, quick to blame. Training was not equal........some were given shadowing for two full weeks while others were handed papers to follow. Terrible terrible terrible place to work. Run fast and hard!

Great place to work with good people. Typical office admin work with call center vibe. Management is great and they do acknowledge the workers. The only downside is the compensation does not match the responsibilities given. Lowest pay compared to competitors but the relaxed environment makes up for it.

Very high stress all the time. Management was never helpful. Found most to be bullies, afraid to ask for anything. Stayed over 10 years, hoping to advance, never did happen, but never had a bad review, was always rated one of the highest in my position. But they had no problem watching me walk away.
Advancement in this company is limited. Hardest part was the workload and not having the resources to be able to do my job properly.

Company was very client based which is good, but really does not care for their employees.

This is a wonderful non-profit organization, the care they provide for the clients are amazing. the field staff; nurses, psw and therapist are wonderful. The only issue is actually working in the office. The management is the worst! The Supervisor was not supportive of the admin staff, there was no confidentiality with admin staff and management, a lot of blame was placed on the admin staff. No unity, a lot of back biting. Very stressful work environment. A lot of lies, scheming between the management/supervisor. Staff was basically set up for failure. No accountability with the management team. It was almost like management was against the admin staff, not wanting come up with solutions to fix issues. Some employees were paid more that others, regardless of senority, when this was brought management lied to staff. There was a lot of favoritism, a lot of vindictive behavior from the management staff. Overall working at Saint Elizabeth was a dream of mine, as Honoring the human face of health care was something I took pride in. Unfortunately this particular office tainted my love of working in the administrative side of Health care. Hopefully the with new management staff this office could keep that mission statement alive. I hope!

This job is very high stress. Fast paced work environment with tight deadlines. Schedule nurses and psw's for in home client care and answer phone calls in queue system.

MANAGMENT DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR EMPLOYEES. ALWAYS UNDERSTAFF. NOT ENOUGH PSW'S OR NURSES. LOW PAY FOR THE LEVELS OF STRESS YOU EXPERIENCE, CO-WORKERS ARE NICE. THERE IS NO STRUCTURE. IF YOU WORK AN 8 HR SHIFT, YOU ENDED UP STAYING LONGER WHICH YOU DONT GET PAID FOR. (THEY CALL IT COMP TIME) WHICH YOU CANT NEVER USE BECAUSE THEY DONT HAVE ENOUGH COORDINATORS.
