-A typical day working from home involves cleaning with time flexibility yet also meeting needs of my manger -A typical day at work also involves cleaning windows on one shift; on another shift/day: dusting, vacuuming, taking out the garbage, cleaning the massage chair -the most enjoyable parts of my job are the flexible hours and the ability to work from home -workplace culture was respectful yet I learned how to discuss things with management

Wow! Just Simply an Amazing Experience For myself and I believe at least in some way, probably for most people who have been associated with SSA. I personally experienced such a beautiful warm welcome the first day I walked through those doors. It is a culture of acceptance and Love.

I have been with the society for eight years and have learned a great deal about mental illness. I find the clients and the other staff friendly and supportive.

I worked for SSA for a few years and it was a great place to work! Very team oriented and the management was supportive and approachable. The clients were great and I loved working with them!

I have worked for the SSA for 6 years now and couldn't picture being anywhere else. I started with a smaller list of duties and as time went on was able to expand and build on my skills. Management is very understanding and even though it is a non-profit organization they still provide all staff with the opportunity for professional development. In my 6 years here I have learned so much and have grown as an individual. The clients are some of the best people I have ever been blessed to meet in my life. The employee benefits are great and the ED is always trying to find special ways to thank employees. I strongly believe in the great work SSA does everyday through providing employment to 200 individuals living with schizophrenia, providing housing to 55 people who have severe mental illness, and combating the stigma associated with this mental illness while out in the community educating Albertans.

I was very exited when I started even though I was suggested not to start there. In the very beginning I could notice how management treats employees like trash and there is zero empathy or compassion towards clients. First week I was there, the very first thing clients said was "please we don´t want any more changes with employees; it is very hard on us". Don´t expect to be treated with a minimum of respect here. No wonder why the turn over rate in this place is so high. If you try to make the place grow, have any expectations of professional development, if you have ideas, if you care about clients, if you want to bring more clients to the center and help them feel safe and supported, if you want a conversation with management about why they don´t let you develop any of your ideas you will get fired with no explanations whatsoever. They won´t even let you talk with the clients about why you are leaving the place. And the saddest part of this, is that the clients are the ones who end up suffering and nobody there seemed to care.

If you want to be treated like garbage ...apply The qualifications required are a joke for the pay The organization as a whole is corrupt The Director has family members on the board... conflict of interest???? They fire people with out reason so don’t go there and expect to be treated with any level of respect As far as advocating for mental health what a joke ..... threatening to evict tenants, banning past tenants the list goes on

Really nice coworkers and managers are really there to help the pay is not the best but it is a charity everything done there is highly confidential even to other staff and agencies so it's best to keep quiet about clients and operations to others

Good employer to work for.a typical day at work is pretty good. The hardest part of the job is maintaining relationships with clients on a individual basis.
