  • Management are bullies, mental health taking a serious decline after starting there. I thought it was just my store that was bad but after reading all the complaints on the team member website I will never work at another save on foods

  • Health issue/ suffering from depression/ mismanagement no respect

  • There are three main reasons why people quit save on foods. In no specific order: 1)Wages, they are well below the amount needed for a minimum standard of living, a very clear majority can't survive long enough for their wages to get to a higher amount and end up quitting. It's not competitive, it's a joke. 2) Management, the ones who are in management shouldn't be and the ones that should don't want to be because of how awful the current management is. I've worked in several stores and it's always the same. 3)Scheduling...it's legitimately all over the place, split days off for months at a time, schedules filled with openings, closes and everything in between. Poor Management is a culprit of this again, easy fix, just tons of "managers" that simply don't care enough to try to.

  • Entry level positions are minimum wage and fewer benefits to entice you to move up. If you show an interest in being a leader by applying yourself and taking on responsibilities, you will find opportunities to advance in store.

  • To earn more and move up, talk to a manager and let them know you are willing to take on responsibility. The entry wage is low to give you incentive to move up. It takes time but in the end, you will find the it is a good job.

  • The company keeps the wages low so you don't stay, don't gain seniority and benefits.

  • Favouritism towards younger employees, especially in the departments that I want to get into.

  • Everything else is wonderful. Just rude night manager

  • Management is unsophisticated, tacky attitudes, they protect their superiors without questioning their motivates. They hide in the back, never see them interacting with the public or staff much. One supervisor in Prince George stands around, follows people and just is plain weird and not okay to be with the young female staff. I never see him hardly doing anything except standing around talking. The new manager on the Hart is a gem. Unfortunately, the older managers who have been in PG forever and have been with SOF's forever lack grace. They also avoid anyone who questions their actions. I have seen one hardworking supervisor taken advantage of. This guy should be a manager. They need to clean the older management out and get some new younger management with fresh attitudes. I now avoid shopping there as much as possible. There are so many other places to find reasonable food prices and nicer management and staff. At SOF's most staff don't get the chance to interact much with the customers unless they are frontline workers such as cashiers, customer service etc. The other workers have to keep their noses to the grindstone. Also, when buying at SOF's check the dates on your products, always. I feel sorry for the people who are mistreated by the management. The management ignores what is happening for the most part until they are required in a certain location. The managers all stick together and really forget about what is important in the store. The back of some of the SOF's smells so badly, because of the waste compactor, which is right in the back near the food. That is a concern for the Health Inspector I would think. The public washrooms in a couple of the stores is disgusting and before you go in their think twice. It is a very clickie place to work. Run as fast as you can, or apply only at the Hart Location.

  • Quit due to below min. Wage, horrible management, scheduling is a joke, too much expected work for such a low wage, older female cashiers being stuck up and snotty. Can't move up in the company, its a dead end. Go to college, you won't regret it.
