Customer service (Lake Country, BC)
Dedicated and fun workplace Ecomm is one of the best department you can have. It keeps you busy and you are pretty much working for yourself. Its a high and slow environment there , the customers are sweet and the coworkers are fun to work with.
Produce Clerk (Winnipeg, MB)
An ok job if looking for a part-time positionI work in the produce department, and a typical day at work involves quality checking products and making sure all of them are in good condition. Its all about checking and discarding the bad quality/expired products and just restocking everything. Then when you're done you record EVERYTHING that is wasted to make sure it gets put in the system, so they can see the expenses of all that's wasted. That is the main thing to do in the entire produce department. Let alone all the other side chores you have to do, such as sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, changing price tags, sanitation, etc. Now imagine trying to do all that within 4 HOURS. There's a lot of work to do, especially for the small shifts they give you. Most of the time I barely get any hours and I'd be lucky to get over 20 hours or more.Management is strict and expect you to do and finish all your chores. They want you to be fast and accurate with your chores, yet if I do that, my duties and responsibilities become sub par. I even experienced a few employees lose their jobs due to them being slow, even though they've been here less than 3 months. The benefits are alright, you get 10% off groceries or 30 times the points from the rewards card. They also sometimes give out free food in the lunch room and you also get some in the team member offers from the rewards card. But they do also have cool stuff in their team member website, such as wellness programs, courses and other stuff to read and learn about, training videos, and other useful links and information. Overall, Save on Foods is good if you're looking for part-time hours and a flexible schedule for your needs.
Sales Associate (North Vancouver, BC)
Hostile work environment with bias uncaring managementI recommend working anywhere else unless you want to be subject to being mistreated in a day to day basis. The harder you work the worse off you are, management is insanely bias with employees aswell as workloads and is overall rude and ignorant. Some of the people there are great but others are entitled and do the most to make you feel bad in the workplace. Union is also useless.
