Will preface this by saying that I met some incredible people both staff and individuals while working for SASH. This should have been a happy experience in and of itself, but those amazing staff and especially the individuals were never put first. Individual needs and care were put second to the money the Executive director was bringing in. Upper Management are not held accountable because information on the Board of Governance is kept a secret and when the information is found, the Board completely ignores you. Some management members have no regard for their coworkers and would dump mountains of work so they could take holidays without the slightest regard for anyone else. Coordinators will completely ignore front line staff and have even hung up on front line staff when they didn't want to deal with certain issues. Several management members are vindictive and will do anything to stay employed, even telling lies about front line staff to get people in trouble. It was made very clear that if you don't suck up to the leaders you will get nowhere with this company. Working for this company you have to sacrifice all moral standing for a paycheque and that did not line up with what most people hold dear. It was also a favorite saying by upper management that people who have left the company are just 'disgruntled' and their complaints are not worth looking at. This is exactly why former staff are disgruntled. There are fundamental issues that cause mass amounts of staff to leave, thus those reasons are valid and should be heard. Would not recommend this company at all. - plus...

Horribly managed, not willing to change, targeted when you assert yourself
Management fails to appreciate staff who are loyal and are there for the individuals. They fail to look at the big picture-being that without frontline staff, you have nothing. They tend to accept complaints from their favoured employees (former supervisors) and fail to fully investigate complaints. Bitter former supervisors working frontline are favoured and protected by managers. Poor on the job training. Management is for the most part inaccessible. I wouldn’t recommend this employer until there is a shake down of management staff. They need to treat all employees equally. No wonder turnover is so high.

Learned so much from the experience here. Lots of directions you could take this. Given a lot of freedom. Friendly supportive supervisors. Had to find out your own scope of responsibility. Unless working stricter schedules and shifts. Lots of Training and keeping up qualifications. Which I think is great. Needed to be very strong mentally and emotionally.
Support from supervisors. Great training resources. Worthwhile mission.
Fluctuating shifts. Lots of paperwork. Emotionally taxing.
It is a fulfilling job as it gives you the opportunity to help others with their day to day activities. Being able to help others and building relationships with the clients and co-workers is quite fulfilling.

Good pay and benefits compared to other agencies, quick hire with secured positions. Lack of proper training and understanding of positions. Management has poor communication and allow supervisors to treat frontline staff poorly causing a horrible work environment. staff feel bullied and under appreciated, while management does nothing about the supervisors who are destroying this company. Communication to office often goes unanswered. Lack of appreciation for long term staff who are loyal to this agency.
Worst management I have ever worked for. The agency has really lost touch with its purpose. It clearly is not the same company as when I first started working there. Don’t value their hardworking and amazing employees. Mushroom management to a tee, keep us in the dark and feed us manure…I have lost the very little respect I had for this agency. So done..
I have never felt more undervalued and unappreciated than I have working here. Management is the absolute worst. They continually go back on their word, and leave staff in the dark. The company lacks transparency, communication and foresight. SASH does not care about the wellbeing of staff or individuals. Hopefully they go bankrupt with their wasteful spending on unnecessary things. Loyal employees get the same pay as someone green off the street with no experience. Managers loose important paperwork and blame staff for it. Not a company you look forward to working with. If I could give zero stars I’d give negative 5.
Working for this company long enough to realize it has got me absolutely no where. Working here has taken years off my life. Management has got to be removed from this heaping dump. Time and time again, they have proven that staff don’t matter and have very little interest in keeping staff. Frustrating dealing with the lack of support and communication. Their only interest is money, individuals and staff come last. Please look elsewhere for employment. Not worth wasting your time and sanity.

Dont seem to recognize long term staff and what they have contributed. Expect you to give your time no matter what. Are now hiring people without experience in the field and putting them in houses without med admin etc. Was a amazing place to work prior to all the new supervisors and coordinators who dont seem to give a rat's butt about their staff now.
Been here a few years, my coworkers are exceptional people to work with. They are very caring and professional, some of the best people I've ever worked with. Management, on the other hand is one of the worst I have ever delt with. Very unorganized, lots of wasteful spending, no forsight, lack of vision, stagnant wages, very little communication between managers and front line staff. Loyal staff are not appreciated and turnover is very high. Be warned, qualified need not apply, not worth the waste of time.
Working here for over 5 years, haven't seen an increase in pay since. Management turnover is high and so is frontline staff. Amazing staff are not recognized for the exceptional work they do every day. Managers do a horrible job keeping communication between frontline workers, and make changes abruptly without involving the staff and the clients. Managers tend to micromanage staff from time to time. Staff morale continues to decline as management continues to fail to recognize the importance of keeping good workers. Benefits are all right, rate of pay is higher than most outfits in the area. Great place to gain experience for your next job, not necessarily a job you keep for longer than a few years.
I have been working here for over 2 years. Management turnover is high and so is frontline staff. Coworkers not recognized for the good work that we do. Managers coming in from other agencies trying to change things abruptly without involving the staff and the clients. Frontline staff are the only ones who seem to care about the lives and well being of the people we support.

I have been working here for several years. Good job while I spend time raising my family. Recently see a big change in management. New faces and think they know everything. They came from other agencies so either didn't have the skills to work there or want to come here and change everything and move up. Attitudes. Unfortunate as the staff here need support and just don't get it. Job security is there especially when raising a family. They keep on poor performing staff so sometimes having to put up with terrible coworkers is a long-term problem in your worksite.
