The most enjoyable part of the job are the smiles and happiness of my four-legged friends just as I arrive in the driveway! I love the freedom of working outdoors in nature.
Putting the dog boots on in winter
Unless you have a million people go vouch for your services at the beginning you can't get a new client in the app. They rate you off of several things but new people to the platform don't even show up in the search results unless they are rated and reviewed. Using the app is bothersome to the clients at times and most would rather paying you upfront instead of having to have the app bothering them all day.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time working for Rover.com. As a university student who has a very strong love for animals, especially dogs, it was the perfect summer job for me. I learned how to communicate well with dog owners over text and in person, how to be a responsible and reliable caregiver, and how to deal with challenging dogs. I enjoyed being my own boss and schedule when I would be available to take care of the dogs. The hardest part of the job was taking on more than 4 dogs in my house at once, however it taught me a lot of skills I will use in the future. The most enjoyable part of the job was meeting new dogs and seeing how happy the owners were, knowing their dog was in a safe and happy environment.

Enjoy working with animals. They are in my home, its very comforting and relaxed and enjoyable. The dogs i take care of have now been repeat clients and they are like being in their second home. They receive a lot of play time and loving care. The most enjoyable part of my job is being with the animals.
Its a great job to do. Meeting new clients and their pets is really what this job is all about, you take dogs for walk, babysit for the owner, and just be playful with their animals. I enjoyed this job because I have a passion for animals. Its hard to get someone to hire you to take care of their pets because this job is really only when people need you. You don't have a schedule its really on your own time, but its very exciting to meet new pets and people.
Playing with animals & meeting new people.
Not on a schedule for shifts.
I walk dogs. I do drop-in visits, which is when I stop by the owner's home and check on their dog or cat. This includes re-filling their water and food bowls. The hardest part is when the pets don't cooperate, but when they do it makes my job so much easier. The best part of this job is that it runs on my own schedule.
It's a great job for extra money and you can make good money depending on what options you sign up for. I signed up just to be a dog walker mostly but you can also do doggy day care and in house pet sitting among others. The money you make depends on what you put for billing and according to how much you're willing to work and put yourself out there to get clients; ie, just word of mouth or putting up ads
With Rover clients come to you based off of their impression of your online profile. Dog owners will reach out to you through the app and ask about your availability and willingness to watch their dog for a specific time. Generally you're expected to arrange a meet and greet where you meet with the owner and their dog, ask questions and make sure its a good fit for everyone involved. Rover is extremely flexible as you only accept requests that fit your schedule and availability and as a dog boarder the clients pets stay in your home which is very convenient. Responsibilities include walking dogs a few times a day, feeding and general care of the pet, and checking in with the owner with regular photo updates.
The app allows you to book your own clients and therefore make your own schedule. You are your own boss and can offer as many services as you’d like. There are many specifications you can include in your profile that are visible to potential clients. App has many features that allow for great communication between owner and sitter.
