Avis d'employé sur Rio Tinto
Worked in the pot lines
Most of the co workers are welcoming. I worked 12 hour shifts in hot temperatures. Worked both night shifts and day shifts.

This company is one you should enter expecting to work for until retirement. They have competitive benefits plans, a pension plan, as well as lots of time off in the form of earned days / vacation time.
Excellent pay, overtime regularly available
Difficulty being approved for earned time off.
As a shift worker it's always diffult to have proper rest. The work environment is challenging but it is then multiplied by the poor management in place. They don't respect any of the front line workers. They don't honour collective agreements and feel like they can do whatever they want without consequence. They disregard health and safety in favour of production and put workers at risk. Fortunately, it is a Unionized work place and we enjoy great wages and benefits. If they keep treating their workers poorly they won't have any left to do the job.
Wages, benefits and Unionized
Disrespect towards workers, bad management, profits over people
Management is always rotating and creates stress down to the floor. Lots of pressure to perform. RioTinto like their numbers. Very good team. Development schooling is great. Pay and benefits are some what competitive. Rio Tinto Alcan would be an excellent place to work for Unionized. Lower staff is not recognized.
Stable work, great people
Poor work life balance
