Corporate don't care what harm comes to their staff or residents as long as they make a buck. It got go the point where my whole body hurt from the insane workload and I nearly had a nervous breakdown from the stress, and management either doesn't care or has their hands tied by corporate. Everyone is so overworked and exhausted that they go at each other's throats and bullying is extremely common and allowed. I literally felt like I was contributing to the evil in the world instead of helping anyone by working for this company. Employees constantly leave due to either mental, physical, or moral injury, which means you're constantly understaffed. I started hoping to get in a car accident on the way to work because I so desperately didn't want to be there, and don't even think about ever calling in sick unless you enjoy being yelled at and threatened.
Depends on the role. Admin 8 - 4:30, All other staff can vary 7-3, 3-11, 11-7, split shifts, 8-4, 9-5
Hostile, toxic, and full of bullies. Also extremely depressing to see how poorly the residents are cared for. Run and don't ever send a loved one to live in an RC facility.
It would need a change of company management and ownership who focus on quality care and profits, not just profits. "Take care of your staff and they will take care of your business".
The management company does not practise their values:
Growth: Growth not only of the organization, but of our people. At PRSHM, we know our people are key to our business, to support the business we support and grow our people.
Integrity: Doing what we say. Building an organization that is accountable for doing what we say we will do.
Service: Service is our competitive edge, leading the industry in service.
Trust: Trust is foundational to all that we do
It seems that all of the managers on the sites try to do what they can for everyone and ALWAYS end up leaving out of frustration and morality issues. I worked at three different sites and they all had the same concerns.
Why is there so much turnover in this company and why does it seem there is a toxic work environment issue?
The reasons are simple: 1) drastically underpay and overwork staff 2) Bullying from corporate operations, COO.
HR is not qualified or certified and is only employed to discipline staff. Not a staff advocate. Shame on this unethical organization and West Coast Seniors Housing.
My role offers five sick days per year, although it may vary throughout the different roles.
