It was a very pleasant place to work ! Management entitled to oversee associates to great customers and help with sizing and make customers feel comfortable when in changing room Incase they needed different sizes ! We all work as a team when it was severely day, all stock had to be properly hung on hangers, steamed , prices ! Then on displays had to be done for each week! Hardest part of job was finding reliable workers. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.
Terrible place to work, especially after the restructuring. District manager now has an entire province to look after and is not available. She is very set in her ways and if you question her you will be punished. Very little payroll hours and lots of work to do. Visual flips every 2-3 weeks is ridiculous when you are not given extra hours to complete. Company loves to let people go for no reason and just pay you severance. I’ve seen it done to 2 managers and then it happened to me. Stay away and look for a career with a more rewarding company.

Very stressful trying to achieve targets. Not enough employees for workload. Bonuses are next to impossible to receive. Good discount on clothing but prices are high so things are always on sale. Lots of changes within management.

I was employed by the Addition Elle store in Calgary. I found the store was terribly understaffed and morale was in the toilet. The customers were great and i felt bad that they had to endure such poor service due to lack of hours. There was a revolving door of managers who could not take the bullying of the DSM. Apparently i hear the store is closing down. Not at all surprising to me. Retail stores must be great at all levels to survive the retail landscape of today.

I enjoy working at Reitmans. The company is customer focused and at my location the customer service is number 1. My day changes from day to day as I always have something come up, I am very good at prioritizing. My girls I work with are fantastic
Loved my experience with Reitmans and would highly recommend this company to any one looking for employment. Excellent and supportive upper management as well!

I loved the focus on training and growth of employees, lots of training programs. Lots of promotion from within the company itself. Bonus program wasn't very good but lots of incentives for its sales staff. Stressful environment for management especially in smaller stores that had no assistants or supervisors.

Fast pace, ever changing environment. responsible for all aspects of the business. There is no such thing as a typical day. Every day is differerent. new customers, new promotions, new stock.

No respect given to employees by management. Intellect is based on how well you do your hair and make up and how well you dress. You wont get breaks either. Loser company, lacking in all aspects. Unethical, this conpany will not care about you as an employee...do not spend your valuble time with this company. Standards will change often, sometimes daily,promotions chnage daily and you are expected to follow through with every email while running the store. Not worth the stress.
This company struggles with consistency and ethical standards. The frontline staff are undervalued and demoralized. The district manager is narcissistic and lacking in communication. Competency levels are judged based on physical appearance.
Work life values are said to be of high importance but don't take holidays!
The training program is lacking in consistency as if you are trained out of district you will need to retrain within your district again.
Policies and procedures are used on an as need basis.
Managers are abusive to staff and not held accountable.
Beware of this company as it holds poor values.

I preformed all the management duties each day I was there, learning new ways of coaching your team,
I learned a bunch of information in a short period with this company.
The co-workers are very friendly and I noticed on the younger side.
Hardest part of the job was the high turnaround with living up north.
I enjoyed most about the job was my co-workers and the customers.. working in a store like this you tend to get regulars and that was the most rewarding.
