I was employed for 10+ years and overall I had a good experience. The only negative I would have is the pay wasn’t great and when promoted to a team lead there was minimal pay change if any to reflect the added responsibility. However, the employee discount they give at all of the Reitmans brand stores is well worth it and can make up the lesser pay if you like to shop.

Was a great place to work as a young adult. Gain great customer service skills. Like all retail positions - some times there were lots or hours and other times there weren't. Loved the discount!

Pretty environment to work

Sometimes i only got 4h shifts. Forced to wear company clothing even though i was only working few shifts…and I wasn’t making much. Had to reach ridiculous sales goals

Love their merchandise and they treat all their staff amazingly well A lot of stores closed due to the pandemic unfortunate and most of their sales are online.

Only downside is not very many hours. The job itself was fun! Great managers in store and coworkers are awesome! If you’re looking for part time work with another job or while in school, it’s a great opportunity

Good for students

I worked part-time at Reitmans as a student and it was okay. It wasn't super stressful and if you have a good manager and co-workers it's enjoyable. The thing I didn't like was not being given enough shifts or the shifts I would get would be really short (3 hours).

A very good place to work as a first job, mostly women staff and customers creates a very comfortable environment. Store tends to be quite slow and you’ll tend to get let off early a lot wether that’s a pro or con depends on you. Overall it’s a very average place to work not bad not amazing just an average job

Very clingy management. Favourites got preferred shifts. Overall, it’s a decent retail job. Nothing special. Sometimes is was great having short shifts, but constantly getting them meant small pay.

The management is terrible! She is a gossip, she creates a very uncomfortable clicky work environment. Unfortunately, the company itself does nothing to help the situation either. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values their sanity and self esteem.

At first they offered me to work full time but then they changed it to a few hrs/week and when I complained they told me they go ‘by hierarchies’, so I was the last employee, even though some came after me and they would give them more hrs than me. But not everything was bad, some coworkers were fun to work with and helpful (a lot).

Reitmans has a lot of pros to work there and a few cons. Overall a decent job but the assistant manger was the deal breaker for me. I can see this being a good fit for most people, but just not for me.

I like working for Reitmans , it’s a slower paced job and my manager is very friendly and out going . It’s also a nice work / life balance and I am easily able to change shifts or pick up shifts.

Terrible hours and pay

They pay you so little AND won’t give you more than 10 hours a week if you aren’t a keyholder or above. Wouldn’t recommend applying as it’s a waste of time, especially at west ed

When I started there in 2017 the management and staff were great to work with. The best part if the job was the clientele. I worked for the now defunct Addition Elle, very unique work atmosphere. Positive and all inclusive. Sadly in 2018 changes were made to management and the atmosphere became stale. Orders from head office placed more emphasis on cost efficiency and less on customer service.
