When you are in sales and customer service ot is very stressful and demanding, it is up to each individual and their interests .I am trying hard to stay with Rbc but move to another department

Pressure and impatient hostile manager

There is no job security and management pretend that they want to help you for more opportunities and grow. The reality is asking for help is risky and can be used against you. Too much pressure, nepotism, and nitpicking. Now it might depend on the department.

Politics only no room for growth

there i really slow growth unless you are managers fav and still there is so much politics from senior staff members to stop your promotion as they cant bear you going ahead in career

Too much work load and the targets are extremely high and almost unattainable. pay is not very good as well for the amount of work the people are putting in and u have to work in a position for a year before promotion

Good opportunity for career growth. Training and coaching sessions are excellent . Learn a lot. Cons-: stesss, work load, team manager monitoring continuously puts pressure

Productive workplace with its own structured ecosystem

Other than the heavy workload and the difficult clients that I encountered throughout the day, I couldn't really think of any downsides of working in RBC. This company has paid me fairly. It is well-structured, and the team has always been supportive. This company develops an entire ecosystem of its own. It gives you a lot of space to build your career or grow within the company network.

Too much micro management and KPI

The role of a banking advisor in the advice center requires handling a minimum of 50-60 calls per day, depending on the length of the calls. Some of these calls can be quite complicated. Unfortunately, the training provided is insufficient for getting familiar with the job, as there is minimal time allocated for it. The instruction given is to follow procedures after training for approximately two weeks.The high level of stress and workload makes this position challenging. Management and coaches closely monitor your work, adding to the overall pressure. This has not been a positive experience, and I would not recommend it.

They offered intensive training before we started and that really helped us understand the job. Will definitely recommend as a starting point to get into the banking industry

Not fun and extremely fast paced

Your mental health will be tested. You only get off the phones during your breaks. System is also too robotic and I feel you get underpaid as well.No concrete hope of transitioning if you are on contract!

Poor management

Sales oriented and unrealistic goals. If goals are not met, you get meetings to push you to sell more unnecessary stuff to people.Not a fun place to work.

Managers don't care about subordinates

Not OrganizedJob description is not clear at all.Sales pressure though they say that they are not sales oriented.Pathetic Software, need to work on multiple platforms to process on job.

Excellent company culture

Typical day at work were taking back to back calls to help clients with their needs, queries, and issues. I gained a lot of knowledge about the banking industry when I worked for RBC. RBC cares for and values its employees. Management is also very supportive and helpful. The hardest part of the job was dealing with difficult and mean clients everyday. What I liked about the job is the company culture and the benefits

Its a good company yo work.Oppurtunity to work from home . Good pay . Oppurtunity to grow . Alot to learm which is also used to manage personal financial plans also

Good place to learn

You will learn a lot as a banking advisor, from credit, to everyday banking and investments . Low salary, career evolution possibilities, learning and accréditations paid by the bank in a lot of cases

Good support from manager but stressful working environment

RBC has a great training program and support team for internal staff. However, the Advice Center is an extremely stressful working environment with low pay. If one can ignore the stress then one can easily be promoted and have lots of opportunities to move to other positions.

Retail banking is horrible

Shortage of staff, and everyone is burning out there. The only enjoyable thing is working with the team you like, however, other things are horrible.

Fast paced environment, where you need to be quick at learning and willing to try anything before you know what you’re doing, so be prepared for that.

Declining culture, no accountability and lots of nepotism

Was a great place to work but every department has been slow to act on the brain drain of employee churn and lack support. So many new people are completely lost and a huge lack of taking ownership company wide.
