It was an okay job, my first real job out of university. My manager at the time was fairly unhelpful and unwilling to change. So I definitely felt unprepared. Was constantly pulled from my role to cover the tellers (which yes is included in the job description). But you end up being a teller more then you are supposed to, then get in trouble for not hitting banking advisor goals. See many people get promoted through nepotism

Best company ever!!!

Rbc has one of the most healthy workplace environment. everyone act professional with each other. Managers are very helpful and supportive as long as you do your job well. Their Benefits are awesome you will never want to leave this place anymore.

Shady management

Avoid working here unless you enjoy having management bully you and breathe down your neck. Severely disorganized. The co workers were great people but management is a clique that will go after you for essentially nothing that can't be fixed by one measly phone call.

Great company , with a lot of potential

Worked there for 2 years and I saw a lot of growth in career. It is one of the biggest bank in Canada great benefits and perks Management can be tough sometime

Good learning, work culture depends a lot on management, great training, almost always short staffed, might have a lot of turnover depending on the branch you work

Workplace culture and management

My advice if you get a banking advisor this not the job for you. The training is horrible and you don’t get support at all. The team manager depend who you get in my case this person gave no support and was very abrasive and mean. I don’t see them improving nothing at all at this point. They pretty much throw you on the phones and you just figure it out

Fast paced workplace

When you are in sales and customer service ot is very stressful and demanding, it is up to each individual and their interests .I am trying hard to stay with Rbc but move to another department

Pressure and impatient hostile manager

There is no job security and management pretend that they want to help you for more opportunities and grow. The reality is asking for help is risky and can be used against you. Too much pressure, nepotism, and nitpicking. Now it might depend on the department.

Politics only no room for growth

there i really slow growth unless you are managers fav and still there is so much politics from senior staff members to stop your promotion as they cant bear you going ahead in career

Too much work load and the targets are extremely high and almost unattainable. pay is not very good as well for the amount of work the people are putting in and u have to work in a position for a year before promotion

Productive workplace with its own structured ecosystem

Other than the heavy workload and the difficult clients that I encountered throughout the day, I couldn't really think of any downsides of working in RBC. This company has paid me fairly. It is well-structured, and the team has always been supportive. This company develops an entire ecosystem of its own. It gives you a lot of space to build your career or grow within the company network.

Good training before start

They offered intensive training before we started and that really helped us understand the job. Will definitely recommend as a starting point to get into the banking industry

Not fun and extremely fast paced

Your mental health will be tested. You only get off the phones during your breaks. System is also too robotic and I feel you get underpaid as well.No concrete hope of transitioning if you are on contract!

Poor management

Sales oriented and unrealistic goals. If goals are not met, you get meetings to push you to sell more unnecessary stuff to people.Not a fun place to work.

Managers don't care about subordinates

Not OrganizedJob description is not clear at all.Sales pressure though they say that they are not sales oriented.Pathetic Software, need to work on multiple platforms to process on job.

Excellent company culture

Typical day at work were taking back to back calls to help clients with their needs, queries, and issues. I gained a lot of knowledge about the banking industry when I worked for RBC. RBC cares for and values its employees. Management is also very supportive and helpful. The hardest part of the job was dealing with difficult and mean clients everyday. What I liked about the job is the company culture and the benefits
