I love my experience there. I have learnt alot. The team was perfect .Unfortunately due to Covid19 the business is affected. Otherwise I would have stayed there.

Low page, high expectations

They have you clean 16 rooms a day and pay minimum wage. They give you 30 minutes for each room and don't pay you more if it takes longer. The only good thing is that you can work on your own.

I never liked working in a hotel but since I needed money, I was desperate to work here but the experience I had wasn't pleasant at all. I've only been here for a month. Shift starts at 8 in the morning. 14 rooms to clean sometimes 18 the most and you need to finish these rooms from say 8 30 or 9 to 4pm. $14/hour, but the rooms you clean are super nasty cuz some people lives in the hotel especially first floor. Management - the manager was fine for a few weeks, then she started giving me attitude and the staff doesnt like her because shes very rude to them Staff - well they all know each other so you cant really rely on them cuz they will screw you over especially that black lady who works in the first floor and those two nosy filipinas always asking me how many rooms i have and how many check out I have. Food - you have to bring your own food cuz theres no free food but you can buy something in the front desk. Work - very tiring, the people who does the laundry are slower than a turtle! You always have to go downstairs every 30mins cuz you always have to get extra sheets, towels, etc I do not recommend applying here cuz they only pay $14, not a good pay for a physical job.

Decent pay but horrible work environment

Good pay horrible work environment. The managers go by favoritism and treat you like slaves. Too much drama. Managers will not give you the days off you want and just make the job miserable for you. Overall the General Manager was really nice but the other managers need to go and get new management for this corrupt hotel to be successful. Over 10 new employees left, now you know why.

Only if you are looking for a part-time position

This job was a good place to work part-time. The houses were long and tiring. It was a good way to learn basic desk-clerk duties. Management was sometimes tough to work with, however a good learning experience.

At quality inn its tough work, constant work to do at all times, if theres no customers then there would be cleaning or cooking to do.

Great team under my Leadership.

Everyday is a different day in hospitality even though tasks are same the challenges are always different. Most days are eventful and I feel like a counsellor, psychologist, parent, doctor, Leader and referee on most days with my team. I have learnt alot here and have the ability to lead my own team taking initiative for staff development, policies, procedures etc. The negatives of hospitality is that our industry is highly competitive and the guest are very negative in nature. I always say that this is a tireless, thankless job but I enjoy leading my team , pushing for success. Development of staff gives me personal satisfaction that salary cannot compensate.

my co-worker where the best thing there the management didn't really care about the employee nor felt like we had the strength to move up in position I felt as If I was at a dead end as I was never given opportunity to move up.

productive and fun work environment

A typical day at work will involve, receiving calls from customers to reserve rooms, receiving calls from customers to request room accessories (towels, soap, toothbrushes), registering arriving guests and assigning rooms, receiving calls to cancel and change room reservations,providing information on hotel facilities and services.At this job i learned how to deal with people in various circumstances.Management and my Co-workers were very supportive of myself and each other, we worked as a team.Hardest part of the Job was verbal abuse.Most enjoyable part of the Job was me being able to utilize my people skills
