Quality Inn and Suites - Avis

It is a very basic job with the only real complications in customer service as you will encounter all sorts of people and problems in this line of work. The interpersonal part of the work place seems to be the hardest part with gossip, manipulation, rumors, and fingerpointing is the main bulk of what you will deal with. Constant bickering about management having favorites and he said /she saids are thrown around a lot as people make clique's or avoid everyone in general to avoid being the victim of rumors and blame.

lack of management: the job itself isn't terrible...the people make it bad: they stand up for guests, not employees! THEY TALK DOWN TO YOU AND WITH DISRESPECT...but you have respect them? If i could do negative stars for some of these reviews, i would. just....DO NOT WORK HERE. save yourself the stress :)

But that has improved a good 85 percent.What is a typical day like for you at the company?Greet guests and check them in, take reservations, and answer phones both outside line and the hotel room lines.do the night audit. Try to meet the guest's needs, help set up the morning breakfast, and check out the departing guest.

If it's the dieppe airport one, avoid at all costs. housekeepers half done their cleaning from being overworked. Management is two faced and lies too most of their employees about promotions and other promises. Housekeeping management has threatened too attack a old couple of I didn't deal with them (I was a houseperson) and a very skilled one at that. No room for improvement unless you stay there for years on end busting your back for little pay. Overall I would not recommend working here if you have standards or are looking too move up in the hotel field.

Employees are treated well. I had a great experience working at the hotel. The work environment was fun and highly productive. The team was fantastic, and I enjoyed the teamwork. The only drawback was the uncertainty of work hours which sometimes made it challenging to accomplish certain tasks and weigh the work-life balance. Overall, it was a positive experience, and I appreciate the opportunity I had with the company.

What is the best part of working at the company?Unfortunately, my overall experience was not pleasant. Management hired me wit the promise of a 3 month review that I never received. I was hired to work AM and PM shift but got put on Night Audit two to three times a week and was not compensated. Certain employees of a specific ethnicity were able to do what they wanted in whatever fashion they chose, and I was getting chastised for small mistakes. Supervisor would speak to me with major aggression and has even told me to "Shut Up" over a simple discussion. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?No organization. People did what they wanted. I got trained by three different people and they all trained me is different ways. There is no cohesiveness or communication. Most of the front desk staff do not clean or keep front desk neat and clean. The hotel lost a half a million dollar contract and without noticed cut my hours by more than half but gave others 48 per week. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Work environment is dirty and not sanitized, and favoritism plays a big role in ones success. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Cleaning up after those who are too lazy to clean after themselves. Sorting through damaged or broken key cards in order to find a working key card. Properly setting up and assigning reservations.

It was horrible for excepted clean pool area, stairs , vacuum carpets it's not really full time maybe 5 or 6 hours some housekeeping people think they are in charge for respect for their people, drama this job is a waste of time.

I loved working at the Quality Inn Woodstock, there was always something different and new to do with banquets (buffet and plated style) to the packed on site restaurant. I met a lot of really great people here that became great friends over the years. Management was good but questionable at times and had the attitude of "if we don't have to do it we don't care". The last Chef we had was amazing, he was a great teacher and really brought a very positive attitude and always produced amazing food and always made his staff feel like they loved being at work. There were definitely lots of laughs and good times while working here, unfortunately the new owners Sunray Group do not care at all about the staff or guests. What once was a great place to work has sadly come to an end.

I really enjoyed the job, but the managers were extremely unprofessional. They’d sit in their office while their employees do all the work. They did give me a raise pretty quickly without me having to ask. But there were no benefits or anything and the pay was low for the amount of work they have you do along with the dangerous location.

Unfair work place, housekeepers will get into trouble for others mistakes or what other housekeepers tell you can have from their checkout rooms. They all have favorites but never treat all workers the same. You will have some good and bad days

Fun place to work as it was never too busy but as far as guest complaints went it was you versus the world. Never got any support from management and often times the complaints weren’t fixed leading to repeat customer complaints one had to deal with.

It was very fun and relaxing to work here. The employees were like family, unless you got off on the wrong foot with the Manager. Then you had issues. The manager had so much drama it made the entire staff unprofessional.
