Just keep your head above water. The environment is fast paced, highly competitive & very political.
The right team can make or break you.
PwC provides you with a lot of resources to help you learn new transferrable skills.
Typical sink or swim environment, fast paced, highly competitive & political.
Depending on the team, work can be really fun.
Firm is also very innovative therefore, there is always a new thing to learn.
Overall PwC is a nice place to work if you love what you do, and you are ready to put in hours day in day out. However, do not expect much in promotions especially if you do not have partners support.
Exceptional training, Travel Opportunities, Personal Growth, Collaborative Environment
Too much bureaucracy, Favouritism over merit in most cases especially promotions, Long working hours with no overtime, Bonus below minimum wage for the hours you put in, Transfer opps between different LoS reduced, Loads of experienced hires being sucked into the firm.
I was the highest producer (i.e hours and billings) at pwc but they fired me because they said I did not fit. The management always said I was doing well and that I was a good producer and then suddenly they fired me without notice.
Culture is very stressful and there is no work-life balance. There is no policy for over time pay, so basically you may end up working 60hours/week without any extra money. Travelling could be 100% and can last for more than a year. Management is not people friendly or empathetic, have seen many lay-offs without a cause and proper severance pay.
