Super easy place to work, typical retail job. However the customers are all 60+ year old men that don't know how to use their ears & are completely unaware of everything going on around them. Pay is bad but benefits are ok. There is no mask policy in place and very minimal virus containment measures. All stores remained open during this COVID-19 pandemic and they appear to not care nearly enough to change policies. Customers are one of the worst parts of the job (a lot of them wear trump/pence shirts and hats just to make a political statement) and you will be treated like pond scum as everyone is super entitled. Everyone at the store is a complete rat, and will pass up any negative comments you make to management to get you in trouble. Too much butt-kissing & sucking up, completely unprofessional environment.
idiot, racist, bigoted customer base
At the location I was at NEVER work as a cashier! Most of them are old ladies that literally make you hate your life. They push you around like they run the place and treat you like you are incompetent. ALSO good luck drinking water on shift. You can't have them on the floor so you have to keep them in a cabinet at the the front. Its so busy that you could maybe have 3 sips in a full shift excluding your breaks.
During my time there I felt I work with a bunch of immature children. There was this employee that made loud outbursts during regular opening hours which created an unprofessional environment. Secondly, there is no such thing as a cashier. You will also have the role of a guest service agent since the company doesn’t feel the need to hire one. Lastly, the management was terrible.

enjoyed the job, worked with a great team. Hours were great. Learned how to work as a team and delegate responsibilities. Most enjoyable part of the job was working in a team environment
great work place
If you would like a job where they shat on your parade and make u feel like you don’t work hard enough then this is for you. Employees talk about you if you’re not perfect and they do not understand when you are unhappy. Then when they duck up and everyone is just about done with the place they make u dinner or buy you pizza to show you they need you.
Free food when you’re treated like garbage
You’re treated like garbage for a cold dominos pizza slice
I worked at the Dartmouth location for 3 months, then left because the manager and assistant managers were complete idiots, nice on the floor but when they took you into a room to speak to you, they were not nice because some of the young girls were telling them I was doing stuff I wasn't doing, I got fed up with the lies they told me I was doing *** DO NOT WORK HERE ***
At Princess Auto, my duties include: Cashing out customers, answering phones, help the customer and provide knowledge about products and make sure the customer leaves with a smile on their face, clean up the cash area, front face impulse section, send out orders, restock shelves, make upcoming event sales for the store and at the end of the night – count cashes with the Leader on Duty and dispose of broken goods.
Free lunch days, great co workers
When I first got hired I thought this was a great place to work, and for awhile it was. As time went on things started going downhill (as apparently it was already going downhill from even before I started) managers started picking favourites, the store became money driven. Team members were constantly leaving. I enjoyed my job title I enjoyed it all. What I didn't enjoy was suddenly I had a target on my back. Everything I did even if it was a mistake I was punished for (literally) but, when I did something good it wasn't even acknowledged. Ive been called names by the LEADERSHIP. The LEADERSHIP talks badly about their team member to other TEAM MEMBERS. There are people that are actually doing something wrong yet you're watching my every move. They really disrespect and take advantage of their employees.
Princess Auto was a fun place to work, with lots of different people. I loved working with different people on different shifts, and it felt like a family. The customers were mostly very nice, and fun to serve. The most enjoyable part of the job would be just getting to know my customers, and co-workers. The toughest part of the job would have to be the physical labour, and working in the warehouse.
Working on Sundays.
Not every day is an easy day no matter where you work. What I've learned form working at Princess Auto is that you always have the support of your co-workers to help you get through the day. I enjoy my job as being a cashier because it gives me the chance to associate myself with customers and interact with them. Although, the management of the job in the other hand is very poorly done. The company do not have reliable workers to count on to show up for there shifts which has an effect on the store at times. However, like I was saying from before not everyday is an easy day you will always stumble across bad days but, you just have to push yourself through it no matter what the situation is.
This place is honestly one of the worst jobs i've ever had and i have been in the Retail industry for a VERY long time. Your schedule is always out of wack, they disregard your hour requests. Part timers were even told that we weren't allowed to change our availability or book time off outside of "important things" anymore due to it "being too hard to keep up." The workplace culture is like being back in Highschool again and several coworkers straight up don't do their jobs or they hire people who are completely clueless. Management is terrible, most Leaders flip flop on rules and go straight to written warnings rather than trying to actually talk to you. Some of the managers are just so rude to you and treat you with very little respect. Some of the pros i can list is the pay and that some coworkers are really cool people but outside of that i cant say this is a good work environment.
Terrible Management and Toxic Workplace Environment
My time working here was one of the most fun and best places to work. Staff were so easy going and so friendly. The customer service skills were exceptional along with management. Everyone was just so open, and i do regret leaving when i did !
management is not good, each 'leader' pretty much has there own set of rules and it can be hard to follow direction. they do not hire full time often but after two years you receive benefits which are pretty good. The team members are probably the best part of the job and mainly the only reason i have been with the company for almost 3 years. princess auto also give profit sharing quarterly which is a bonus and pays above minimum wage. As a cashier, you have to have a strong back bone. Guests regularly get mad when things are not in stock, they had a bad experience with a sales associate or something is past warranty and we wont exchange it for them. i have personally been called pretty much every name in the book but if you can put up a strong front, you're good to go!
don't hire full time often, leadership
This is the ideal summer job. It's a great environment to spend the hot summer days working. You get the opportunity to interact with new clients everyday. The downfall with Princess Auto is that, as you are just a part-time employee, you are not really treated as much of an asset.
