You get no training, beyond 10 different people telling you what not to do and how your doing another persons method wrong. Zero positive reinforcement or value in people. Managers are untrained and insecure resulting in a passive aggressive ,weird culture of gossip, drama and intimidation. Long hours with erratic scheduling. Must bang on the door to be let inside in the morning in the cold and dark unless you have a personal cell phone, and if someone actually picks up. Dangerous. Return Policy depends on which manager or employee is working resulting in confusion, anger and yelling by customers or managers yelling at customers. It is like a time warp here. If you like old fashion management, hierarchy and servitude. This is your best bet.

the work and the management team is fine but the working condition is so bad , its so dust and dirty , there are some cleaning machine but those used only when there is visit

Job is fine. Benefits are great they also have profit sharing which is nice. Managers really play favorites though and I have been almost fired for "walking to slow" and that "my attitude needs to change" because I was having a rough week and didn't look thrilled to be at work.

some of the managers were fantastic and some not so much. money really is their bottom line and they dont care if your sick or hurt always want you to work anyway

Great place to work! very accommodating for hours and always opportunity to work more hours. Customers are great to deal with and love working with them everyday!

This place is honestly one of the worst jobs i've ever had and i have been in the Retail industry for a VERY long time.

Your schedule is always out of wack, they disregard your hour requests. Part timers were even told that we weren't allowed to change our availability or book time off outside of "important things" anymore due to it "being too hard to keep up."


The workplace culture is like being back in Highschool again and several coworkers straight up don't do their jobs or they hire people who are completely clueless.


Management is terrible, most Leaders flip flop on rules and go straight to written warnings rather than trying to actually talk to you. Some of the managers are just so rude to you and treat you with very little respect.


Some of the pros i can list is the pay and that some coworkers are really cool people but outside of that i cant say this is a good work environment.

If you've applied for the night receiver stock position, prepare yourself for a gruesome experience. Princess auto north location was probably the worst experience I've had and personally I think they wanted me out soon as possible. Don't get me wrong the co workers were great but managements expectations for 13 per hour was pure disgustingly off the roof. I mean, if you see yourself making 13-16 per hour for the rest of your life stocking shelves then this place is for you. Ha. Don't get me wrong a jobs a job but management in the north location lack in decision making but then again they get paid trash.

work culture is get in line or be invisible. Management says workers are important and they will go out of their way , but if you'er not in their plans ..good luck to you

Princess Auto is great if you like meeting new people and creating new friendships. The team there is wonderful and friendly. But when compared to most retail jobs, the level of expectations and required hard work is much much higher. New team members are thrown to the wolves with little to no training and are expected to perform at the same level as somebody who has been working there for a few years. Having expectations is totally okay, but if you don't know what the expectations are then how are you supposed to do your job well?

Operated the Forklift machine, loaded and unloaded trucks, stacked and unstacked warehouse palettes, helped people who picked stack their palettes together. Operated the scan-gun machine, was driving the double palette jack at first than upgraded to forklifting.

I really enjoyed working at Princess Auto. I was a sales Representative which meant I had my own section of the store that I specifically took care of and had knowledge about. I learnt a lot about different trades and what tools are needed for them. My management was wonderful, specifically because the company is passionate on working as a team. I couldn't say my job had anything really hard about it but i did leave because I was a new mother and at the time that was hard but the managment was very undrstanding about my situation. Getting to talk to new people and make new relationships, as well as the pay check would be my most enjoyable part of the job.

Overall its an okay place to work. In my opinion, the management could be severely improved. There are many good people working for the company that get under appreciated. However, it is a good place to work when starting out. The benefits are good.

Princess auto is OK. Culture $ driven and productivity you are a hindrence if you are not a constant overachiever. If you just let it slide and do your job you will be Ok.

Princess Auto is a good company to work for, there are plenty of negatives and positives to say about this place. But the biggest lesson that Princess Auto taught me is how they cherish Family.

Co-workers were great, very fun people. That's about the only good thing about this place, supervisors are power hungry and know less about anything then most of the teenagers that work there, the manager expects far to much out of his minimum wage "team", and dwells upon the most minor of mistakes. Management and supervisors had no power though, at the time a 16 year old ran the tills/customer service desk because the actual supervisor didn't understand how they worked and every body went to the former mentioned for help. Night crew ran the rest of the place, disregarding supervisors and management alike. If there was an issue in the warehouse or on the floor nine times out of ten night crew was who people would go to, it usually got resolved too. unfortunately this meant that if there was any issue at all it was on night crews shoulders. the job itself is actually kind of fun, definitely easy, but it is impossible to make it past the terrible management and the drama they bring to the table.

At princess Auto I started as a trailer reciever. After about 2 months i started working as an sales associate. I loved my co workers because everyone was so respectful and helpful.

My typical day at work starts by making costumers feel welcomed and treat them in a nice way. The most important thing i learnt about working and dealing with customers is that always smiling is the key to make customers happy and by making them happy they will always come back.Co-workers are the most important people at a work place, they make work fun and successful, they always have your back when you need help. The hardest part of my job is when there is no customers, it makes the day slow and boring. The most enjoyable part of my job is when i am able to make my customers happy.

Typical Day: Starts with team meeting to give you a run-down on how the store is doing. Everyone then goes to their separate sections and cleans, faces isles, and greets customers. Stock is brought down from storage or from warehouse and shelves are filled. Sometimes merchandising is required for fliers but not always. Very easy job and very rewarding as well, hard work is often complimented and co-workers are friendly and always willing to help.

What I learned: How to merchandise for better sale results. How to work in a team environment, more than I'll ever probably need to know about tools, but there is always more to learn about the products that they sell. Minor hydraulics work such as cutting hydraulic hose.


Management: Usually really stressed out for not really any reason at all. You can really tell if you're doing a good job because your section manager will be far less stressed if you are. I've never seen anyone be bad about it though.


Co-workers: Extremely nice and friendly. Very welcoming environment. Always willing to help, whether it be with merchandising tips, product knowledge, or simply just lifting something that's too heavy for one person.


Hardest Part of the Job: Showing customers where things are. Your basic responsibility is your section, but you're expected to know the whole store in case a customer asks you where something is or what it does. Although if you don't know, you can always ask someone in their section where something is or what it's used for.


Most Enjoyable Part of the Job: Interacting with customers. Customers that come in aren't

Very busy, with rude grabby customers. Coworkers acted like they were in high school despite being well over 35. Management never showed recognition for a job well done.
