Super avantages sociaux (assurances, jour férié, même congé au boxing day!!) Salaire correct, possibilité d'évoluer mais il n'y a pas beaucoup de magasin au quebec encore alors il faut vouloir déménager dans un autre province. Super culture d'entreprise, les autres magasins le faisait bien ressentir. Très flexible pour les horaires, très axé sur la famille alors nous aidait à avoir un bon équilibre vie professionnelle/familiale. Direction ordinaire.

exhausting shift work and unfair standards

I didn't like working here for several reasons: managers clearly pick favourites and treat people they don't like poorlydistribution of work was extremely unfair to lots of employees problems dont get resolved unless the manager agrees disrespectful staff espically towards new hires, doesnt get dealt with by management properly exhausting shift work (ex: monday shift from 7am-3pm, tuesday 12pm-8pm)

A good temporary place to work in

A minimum wage job so you put in 40 hours a week but it is a luxury to have two days off in sequence so even if you get monday and lets say thursday off, because they are not 48 hours off, you are still busy playing a game of catch-up with work and personal life. When it is busy, it is nonstop busyness. Eventually, you get drained physically and mentally watching yourself stuck in a job that ideally should be temporary as the money does not pay enough to even get an apartment. Its truly another retail tale of underpaid workers, toxic environment, fatigue and no room from growth that matches the new extent of the workload if you do get promoted.

Cares about profits not employees

Toxic culture that management is aware of but doesn’t care to fix because the stores turning a profit. Management is recycled managers that couldn’t cut it at other companies or friends of the district manger. They push the idea of possible advancement by telling you how the CEO started as a part time cashier, only to give the promotions to some unqualified person off the street. The wages are a joke and not on par with the cost of living and the work to pay ratio is out of control more and more is expected without anything in return. But like I said as long as the stores are making profit who cares? Right?

Typical Retail

Typical retail position - low pay, crazy all over hours, and a scheduler who will have you fired for getting a second job since she doesn't want to schedual around any hours.

Great place to work but terrible management

I started off loving this job and how great the people you work with are and the customers too (some had their off days). The job is very fast paced depending on the day and physically demanding. You’ll get to know the store and where everything is pretty quickly. The only thing I didn’t like was the management. I would feel like I'm being watched all the time by most of the leaders every time I was working and I was criticized for the smallest things like helping my coworkers try and find where a product was, grabbing product in the back for customers and apparently staying back there for “too long” when it would be only 5 minutes, and not knowing how to do something although I asked several times for help but got nothing. They pick favourites and they write up the people who they don’t like for the smallest things hoping that they quit after a while. I would recommend this job if you’re first starting out or wanting experience in the retail industry but the management is poorly run and most of the leaders don’t know how to do their job correctly.

Terrible management and constantly hit on my pervy men

As I cashier I interacted with customers constantly and as a young women working in a hardware shop I was repeatedly hit on and had many disgusting and perverted comments made while managers were near by and none made an attempt to address or remove the creepy old men that obviously have not learned how to treat girls since the 18th century. Every management position has an extremely big ego and believes they are better then the other employees even though they work at princess auto. Co-workers are great because we all hated the management and the job in general so we all bonded over that.

bad management

I started off loving this company and wanting work my way up in the near future. But I quickly realized that they not only make you feel bad about yourself from the stress they throw at you but they also don’t recognize the hard work the team members do unless a customer does the 30 minute survey (about the cashiers) just for the chance to win $500 gift card.The managers will definitely pick favourites and treat the rest of the employees like garbage. For the favourites, they’ll send out huge shout outs all the time but won’t recognize the ones who are working their butts off.They treated me like I have a future with the company but when I wanted to move up, I was told that I’m “just a normal team member and always will be” or when I went to them about a work problem, they told me that I “will have to deal with the stress on your own time”… but yet they give me the responsibilities of a supervisor and expect me to ack like one when I only make min wage, no thank you.

- Management is unwilling to lower the minimum hours to accommodate students, leading them to be very understaffed-Not a place for part-time workers. -The store gets robbed often. -Very long and repetitive training -petty and over-demanding management

Difficult to work for

Employers tell you at interview that there is room for advancement but then they do not advance you. They pick who they want to advance but not those who deserve to be advanced.They didn't address concerns or deal with difficult ones either. The employers make things look great when the big shots come but its all a big show. They try to manipulate you too. It was not a good place to work.

Great company to work for and I learned a lot from working for the company.

They have great burger and hot bbq’s . Always willing to help Christmas families. A great company to work for I worked for them for 13 years . I’d like to go back .

Horrible management

There’s a few things about this place that make it really hard to wake up each morning and return.- The two higher up managers barely do anything and force you to do 10 things at once. The one will tell you to do one thing than the other will come by and talk to you like your an incompetent child. And if you try and call in sick the one lady will say “take a painkiller” even during covid when you are presenting with Covid symptoms.- The store is so understaffed that you have to do the work of 5 people. When ever they hire 3-5 people only 1-2 remain after the first month.-Kelowna is also an really expensive place to live, even with multiple roommates the salary that princess auto pays is 3/4 of rent. With food and other life expenses you are lucky to break even each month.

Great company to work for

In the retail world there are not a lot of companys that put people first and by people I mean there employees and customers but Princess Auto dose everytime. Truly a good place to work and in my opinion it does not get any better in the retail world.

Management consists of poorly trained egotistical people who have no skill in working with people. Unhappy, stressed out people do not make good leaders.

Very disorganized management system in place

I have been done with this place for a while and if it wasn’t for some of my co workers that I’ve made friendships with, and our night manager that gets put down as much as we do, I’d be out the door. Management is rude and very unorganized. When the store is doing good, they only look at the numbers and brag, but when it’s a slow sale period, the first instinct is to cut hours. Managers will also chase you down to make schedule changes when it’s convenient to them but will guilt you when you try to book off time or need to make a change

Environnement de travail sans aucune direction.

J'aurais dû savoir dès le départ lors de l'entrevue que c'était un mauvais endroit. Quand la personne responsable de t'embaucher te dit ouvertement que son seul critère d'embauche est de ne pas avoir à te poser de question sans cesse, ça s'annonce mal. La gestion est inexistante, on nous demande de faire le rendement d'une équipe complète en ayant la moitié d'une équipe et si nous faisons de l'overtime pour compléter les tâches, ils vont espèrer qu'on soit reconnaissant pour les heures qu'ils nous donnent en plus de s'attendre à ce qu'on donne notre 120%. Des problèmes d'horaire horrible. En tant qu'étudiant je me suis senti très insulté quand ils m'ont dit de penser à mes collègues de travail lorsque je ne rentrais pas les journées que je ne n'étais pas disponible. Salaire médiocre, non compétitif et encore la gestion ne sait pas comment gérer ça. Nous avons un programme d'évaluation pour avoir une augmentation de salaire au rendement, mais ils ne l'utilisent pas. Ils nous disent que notre augmentation c'est la prime annuelle. Tout ça c'est juste la pointe de l'iceberg. Pour finir, j'ai appris qu'ils vont ouvrir des nouvelles locations... et récompenser la gestion du magasin avec des postes dans d'autres magasins.

Night crew does not like new people the manager will do nothing for you please do not work here stay far away and the royal service they offer to the customers is a lie
