Great Work place
Manufacturing Reliability Intern, Operations (Ancien employé) –  Mississauga, ON5 mai 2019
Great people, good workplace. Very balanced work and personal life balance. Salaries not competitive - in order to retain people they need to invest more in benefits.

Poor Work Life Balance
Pre-Sell Rep (Employé actuel) –  Toronto, ON16 avril 2019
Drive around and deal with unhappy customers, then hear from unhappy managers from Pepsi, doesn't pay overtime. Only positives are good benefits and salary.

Part-Time Chip Merchandiser (Ancien employé) –  Barrie, ON5 avril 2019
Every day was different, met many great people throughout the day. Great experience building displays, merchandising product and learning much about the industry. Management was good along with fellow employees. For those who aren't afraid to keep busy, its easy money to be made and a great way to keep oneself active.

Working alone can be nice but not always
Merchandiser (Ancien employé) –  Saskatoon, SK4 avril 2019
A typical day working as Merchandiser at Pepsi

You get a phone and you check in what stores you work.

Get to the store check on a notebook all what you need to fill as well clear your sales area from other products non related to Pepsi merchandise.

On a delivery date need to work the pallets you get delivered to the location it requires a lot if energy (pulling pushing lifting)
Points positifs
Work alone, pay
Points négatifs
Work alone, Long hours, 7 day available a week and on call anytime they want you to work

PepsiCo is one of my favourite employers
Process Operator (Employé actuel) –  Cambridge, ON1 avril 2019
I have worked for many companies in my lifetime and PepsiCo seems to be one of the best I have ever worked for. The workplace offers good benefits, a pension plan and it is unionized to help the workers get yearly raises and make sure their pay meets with inflation. It is what you would expect from a manufacturer, they have typical manufacturing shifts. Which you are allowed to bid on every year to try to get what suits you best based off of your seniority. The job is fairly easy if you make sure you keep yourself ahead. Some days it can be stressful but finding a workplace with zero stress is unrealistic. The factory is older so in the summer it can get pretty hot. The highest I have seen is in the mid to high 40’s. But when it reaches higher temperatures heat breaks and free Gatorade is supplied a lot. As well there is water coolers everywhere. A lot of the staff are super friendly and it is like a big family. I truly love my job with the company and hope to see them grow and succeed.
Points positifs
Great Benefits, Pension Plan, Unionized workplace, Great people
Points négatifs
Shift work isn’t for everyone

A company striving to achieve success in the modern era.
Dispatcher (Ancien employé) –  Ottawa, ON26 mars 2019
This was a 1-year contract with an emphasis on providing a more efficient, effective dispatch solution using a new software called Roadshow. It was a challenging and rewarding position that I was happy to have been a part of.

Shifting from being a great place to work to being riddled with mixed messages to employees as to what the true company objectives are.

If you like to do repetitive laps this is for you. light lifting but around and around is monotonous. They hire on contract so employment security is lacking.

Negative work environment and lacks culture
Sales Manager (Ancien employé) –  Alberta11 mars 2019
Work here used to be fun and there was a solid culture in place. People were respected and the company took care of its employees and ensured that people were happy.

Over the last few years there has been a drastic change in the way the company operates. No one listens when there is problems - it always comes to down to people not working hard enough. Doesn’t matter if the execution plans to hit an astronomical target are lacking in customer support or are just simply unrealistic - “you’re just not working hard enough!”. The fingers are always pointed to the frontline and their perceived “inability to execute”, no one higher level is ever really held accountable for improper or flaky communication, or for a lack of clear direction. “Control what you control” is uttered 10 times daily by every manager and employee. The company loves to do a million things really poorly instead of focusing on a few key things and doing them very well.

The majority of retail customers the frontline have to deal with on a daily basis are miserable and awful to PepsiCo employees. The grocery industry is not a happy place - I don’t know anyone that actually loves working in it or around it. This will not change...ever. Not PepsiCo’s fault but if you’re reading this and searching for a job in the industry, it’s important to know this. Not everyone is miserable, but there are a lot of them and trust me, just a single encounter with one can ruin your whole day. And you will encounter at least one person like this, per day if you are working in the retail grocery stores. As a rep or vendor you
plus... are “guests” in their stores - therefore they have every right to treat you like trash if they see fit. Grocery store managers love to go on power trips and take their frustrations out on vendors in their stores - get a thick skin now. You’ll need it.

There are virtually no staff events anymore with PepsiCo (their vision of a staff event is getting frontline staff to drive to an airport hotel, miles away from anywhere central, DURING prime work hours - Just to hold a meeting. But hey there’s sandwiches!) There is no plan to rebuild any sort of culture, and the company continues to lay off people and workloads are increased for remaining managers and frontline without any sort of compensation.

Guess you should be happy you have a job right? That about sums up the culture at PepsiCo. No thanks!

Awesome company. Great pay with great benefits. Just shortage of work as people are not consuming cola like they use to.
warehouse hand (Ancien employé) –  Kamloops, BC9 mars 2019
Overall if you can get on with Peosico. Do it.
If you're sell motivated young and eager to work nights for $33 an hour. Go for it. But you do get laid off 4 times for 2 weeks at a time per year. So you can't even collect E.I. because it's only 2 weeks at a time.
