Awesome place to work but starting hours not so good!

Very good place to work. Our supervisor is super friendly and attends to our concern and needs the best way possible. Team is always helpful and good salary for a 5 ton driver. The only thing is that you don’t have a regular starting time. Sometimes it can be 1 a.m, sometimes it will be 3 a.m and sometimes 6 a.m. Other than that, it’s the best company to work for

Hard work, no work life balance

Worst place ever, management doesn’t care about you. Long long hours. Schedule you for 12+hours and still not enough time to complete task. Managers tell you what you don’t finish today you can complete tomorrow when you are scheduled for another 12+hour day. Keep you on part time forever with no benefits. Merchandisers are the lowest of the low and treated as such.

Difficult job with no work life balance

Difficult work environment with no guidance, but high expectations. I would recommend this only to those who are single, dedicated, and don't mind working from dusk til dawn.

Points positifs

decent pay

Points négatifs

long hours

Best job

You feel a part of the company & have a voice because of the union. The benefits are nice if you are full time. No one pressures you and you get optional overtime.

Find work somewhere else

Watch your back. There are crabs who'll push you down to get them up just like in any organizations. But my expectation was high since this is a global brand. I thought things like these were fine tuned already. I was wrong. Bottom Line i realized of course profits first for them.

Points positifs

Competitive compensation

Points négatifs

Favoritism, ineptness

Average Place To Work

The main issue with the company is the pay. We'll below what it should be for the amount of work and stress. Also, they force people into office 2 days a week even though the work can be done at home. Otherwise not a bad place to work. Pay is a major issue though.

Points positifs

WFH most of the time, good benefits

Points négatifs

Bad pay, forced in office 2 days a week

fast pace, not enough training.

company overall is a decent place to work at production is paid fairly, but the expectation far exceed the abilities for the one who set them. supervisiors are over worked, and under paid. trades in the plant are met with constant challenges from both sides. new onboards with trades people get minimal training due to trainees themselves not able to deliver the training needed due to the pace of the job. and no hopes of ever seeing day shift until your 20+ years in. i feel the wages for trades are low becauae of the amount of specialized machinery they make you work. get friendly with your co workers because they have the knowledge to succeed in this fast pace enviroment. small amount of upper management have compassion for their employees. one pro is they cannot make you work overtime, so as a non management worker your not obligated to work past your scheduled shift. ive worked for worse, but ive worked for better. be transparent in the interview process to see if its the right fit for you. also it is basically reccesion proof. benifits are ok, but ive seen better, pension could be better.

Points positifs

no mandatory o.t

Points négatifs

low training with unrealistic expectations.

Great Job for people that are self motivated and enjoy working alone.

9-12 hr. daysThe harder you work, the more you get paidYou basically are your own boss, but your boss is generally there to help you succeed.Great job for those that like to work alone, not so good for those that need supervision or cannot manage their time. The days are long but you have flexibility with your time.

Points positifs

Be your own Boss

Points négatifs

Long hours

Very High Pace

Very high paced company. They talk about work, home life balance, but that is not possible if you want to advance. No overtime for management/supervisor positions but you are expected to be on call all hours of the day including weekends. They use WhatsApp to keep in touch with you and expect you to answer their emails/calls/texts even when you are on vacation. Expect to work in excess of 60 hours per week on your normal 40 hour salary if you want any chance of advancement. Supervisors normally don't last more than a year before leaving or getting fired. About 10% move up the proverbial ladder. Good luck if you take this job, you're going to need it.

Ok Job

You have alot of freedom but going to store to store and dealling with the stores management gets tedious. You get paid weekly which is good other than that not a bad job.

Fast paced work environment, folks with a work ethic will really shine here

I have learned a ton of practical skills in the retail food business during my time at Pepsi Beverages. Hard work and going the extra mile are rewarded with the occasional prize for hitting sales metrics. If you possess a strong work ethic and good people skills this role would be a good fit for you. Branded clothes and other swag are given to you several times a year. When new products come out you can usually expect a sample. Like any job there are of course a few drawbacks. Although we are 40 hour a week salaried employees, we can often work upwards of 50 hours a week. Especially if you are covering an out of town sales route. There is no cheating the drive time it takes to cover some of these rural areas in Alberta. Advancement can be tough for those who aren’t willing to relocate as well. If you are a person who doesn’t mind moving to a different city or province to advance their career then the sky is the limit at Pepsi. There are also the obvious advantages of working for a big place like this such as a pension, benefits, RRSP match, job security, and competitive pay. Just come ready to work hard and have the occasional long day.

Points positifs

Pay, benefits, job security

Points négatifs

Long hours, advancement tough for those unwilling to relocate

Warehouse Tech

Day to day life of warehouse tech is easy enough, you'll start with pre shift and then depending if you can drive forklift or not you'll either be working on the pick belt with a partner loading trailer and rotating after breaks. Or you'll be driving fork loading trailers either by hand or just dropping off pallets and moving product around the warehouse. There is an expectation to maintain a work speed to keep your numbers up for the day but from my experience if you go negative a few times in a week it's not the end of the world. New hires can look forward to forklift training after 3-4 months a long with a nice pay increase. Seasonal hires won't get trained on forklift but often times they have a chance at full employment and forklift training. Management can be hit or miss depending on the shift you work some supervisors are more laxed then others. Upper management seems to try and provide different ways for communication but often ends up in delayed response. The people I have met be it management or just fellow everyday workers over all have been nice and welcoming. If I had any questions during training or something I've never encountered before people were more then willing to help or direct me to someone who could help. The hardest part of the job is maintaining your numbers especially during summer when its super busy and hot. This job is very physical and the standards that are set to meet your numbers in my option aren't very forgiving or realistic especially when driving forklift where any number of problems could arise killing your numbers. Its a warehouse job.

They pay well, its hard physical work and the hours are kinda bad being 5-1:30 in the morning and its all seniority so you are going to be laid off but overall its a pretty fun job and if those three things don't bother you and you stay with it then you can find a lifelong career here.

Points positifs

Great pay, Benefits

Points négatifs

Awkward shift, hard work, lay offs

Management is amazing

The management is pretty good at taking care of their hard working drivers. Pay is better than most companies for Delivery Drivers. Only drawback of this job is that you are hired on-call in the beginning. You can easily get more than 40 hours a week in summers but may be not even 20 in winters.

Points positifs

Union job, good wage, standard start time for all drivers.

Points négatifs

you will be hired on-call in the beginning, physically demanding job, customers can be rude at times.

Horrible company to work for

Long hours to sustain a living wage. Be careful not to get injured... if they are concerned about your physical health they will find a reason to terminate you. Poor/weak district sales leaders with little to no on the job experience. I was with them for 10 years with strong growth month after month to be threatened with cuts as I was earning too much.
