Great Pay, Bad Culture

Pretty much as the title describes. You're paid well for what you do. But management is clueless and your co-workers can be the worst people you've ever met.

Negative work environment and lacks culture

Work here used to be fun and there was a solid culture in place. People were respected and the company took care of its employees and ensured that people were happy. Over the last few years there has been a drastic change in the way the company operates. No one listens when there is problems - it always comes to down to people not working hard enough. Doesn’t matter if the execution plans to hit an astronomical target are lacking in customer support or are just simply unrealistic - “you’re just not working hard enough!”. The fingers are always pointed to the frontline and their perceived “inability to execute”, no one higher level is ever really held accountable for improper or flaky communication, or for a lack of clear direction. “Control what you control” is uttered 10 times daily by every manager and employee. The company loves to do a million things really poorly instead of focusing on a few key things and doing them very well. The majority of retail customers the frontline have to deal with on a daily basis are miserable and awful to PepsiCo employees. The grocery industry is not a happy place - I don’t know anyone that actually loves working in it or around it. This will not change...ever. Not PepsiCo’s fault but if you’re reading this and searching for a job in the industry, it’s important to know this. Not everyone is miserable, but there are a lot of them and trust me, just a single encounter with one can ruin your whole day. And you will encounter at least one person like this, per day if you are working in the retail grocery stores. As a rep or vendor you -

Great for short term ... long term employment would be impossible .. company likes to turn over employees fast so they don't pay benefits , vacation

Very demanding job .... very little respect ... top management is very narcissistic and lie promising full time when they have no intentions of it. Management make big promises just to keep people until they are no longer needed and let them go without notice. Great employment for casual or student workers.

Great place

Coworker are great management is horrible

All about numbers and not afraid to use intimidation and lyes to achieve this. Their is no place for family life here it’s all work. They don’t even have Christmas party’s under a guise of being inclusive.

Great group of people with a fun job with freedom

A lot of autonomy was provided along with coaching and mentoring through management. Was fun to work with friends and their referral program was very smart to growing team morale.

Amazing culture and excellent work life balance

Work was a typical 9-5, a lot of which was desk work. Management was great, worked a lot with you individually. Teams were friendly and helpful. Cross department friendships were encouraged.

Overall good workplace

For the most part, working at PepsiCo is an enjoyable experience. However, hours can be long and gruelling as the job and management expect an extremely high level of performance from their staff. Some managers are unorganized and forgetful. Driving all the time can be hard, especially in the winter months. If you want to work for PepsiCo expect your vehicle to mile out very quickly without really good compensation. Also, expect to be tracked with everything you do, including GPS tracking.

Horrible experience, NOT worth your time

-Very poor management -Very long work days, always 10+ hours -Extremely negative attitude/work ethic from coworkers who cut corners constantly -Was used to get through Xmas rush then let go without reason

Run

They promise you this pay until you find out you have to work there for 8 months before you get the full pay . Some trainers are ok others will abuse you and belittle you . When you first start management will follow you around and pop up unexpectedly makeing you feel on edge all the time . They will lay you off also in slow season . If you don’t mind this by all means apply

The absolute honest Pepsico Frito Lay Review

Oh Pepsico Fritolay, where do we begin? So at first working in this “finely established” “rich and fun” “professional” organization you tend to think, hmm this place isn’t have bad, getting good hours having good trainers, but then you slowly come to a realization that this place, this place is absolute garbage. They treat you like a robot over working you and not paying you a dime extra, constantly sizing you up against eachother like you’re in some type of competition, yet you dont get paid for extra by doing any extra work. Which YES at other companies if you do more then the average you get paid an extra bit of money at the end of the day, depending on how much more you do. Which brings me to this, if you go out of your way all the time and constantly do more then an average employee is supposed to do, like take leadership on the floor, pull out bulk trucks, plug them in, clean up the facility to a tee, train peers how to safely and effectively do the job properly ( BECAUSE YES THERE IS A PROPER WAY TO DO THE JOB example Picking up your boards, pulling porduct up, NOT clocking in and out of job codes to make your rates faster, actually doing the job how its meant to be done.) they dont care they just look at you like some idiot and may take shifts away from you just because they may not like you, well sorry your HR idiot may not like you. also picking more cases then Your supposed to, they just reward you with more cases the next day. This place also loves to choose favorites, especially if you know how to kiss butt and ride the managers croch. If your good at doing that -

Lots of work, managers don't care

Easy to finesse. Managers don't care if you go above and beyond so it is not necessary to try hard. Don't over exert yourself for no reason because they will just make you work more.

Limited opportunities

incentives revoked

PepsiCo Just revoked incentives for employees who worked hard to get into management . Working their way from the bottom. Just to be told they want to focus on outside talent instead of developing within. Another words if you don't have a degree your advancement opportunities are next to nothing. All opportunities to advance wages..GONE get development training GONE....any type of movement GONE. Another words if you are happy being a grunt and don't want to advance you career at all....this is the place for you.Unless you have a engineering degree, then you will be catered to like a walking god.

Great company

PepsiCo is a great company to work for, lots of benefits to being employed there. the crew is amazing and same with the management. If only I were off nights, life would be good!

Great experience and great team

I enjoyed my time at PFC. The Management team was very knowledgeable and lead with passion. This is a very physically demanding role and is not for the faint of heart, but also very rewarding.
