Very High Pace

Very high paced company. They talk about work, home life balance, but that is not possible if you want to advance. No overtime for management/supervisor positions but you are expected to be on call all hours of the day including weekends. They use WhatsApp to keep in touch with you and expect you to answer their emails/calls/texts even when you are on vacation. Expect to work in excess of 60 hours per week on your normal 40 hour salary if you want any chance of advancement. Supervisors normally don't last more than a year before leaving or getting fired. About 10% move up the proverbial ladder. Good luck if you take this job, you're going to need it.

Where dreams go to die.

Terrible place to work if you have a brain on your head, they do not participate in the apprenticeship program although they have maintenance people millwright, electrician, welder etc. They will only allow people that have already a trade to get other trades they wont let people that break their back on the belt to get career advancements. Wouldn’t recommend unless it’s all you can get.

A big name that treats employees like a number

Working at PepsiCo was okay. It paid the bills. In certain roles, like my position as a store merchandiser, you will be treated like just number. In the higher up positions, people were treated better and you can tell as soon as you start. Managers also had favorites.

Fast paced work environment, folks with a work ethic will really shine here

I have learned a ton of practical skills in the retail food business during my time at Pepsi Beverages. Hard work and going the extra mile are rewarded with the occasional prize for hitting sales metrics. If you possess a strong work ethic and good people skills this role would be a good fit for you. Branded clothes and other swag are given to you several times a year. When new products come out you can usually expect a sample. Like any job there are of course a few drawbacks. Although we are 40 hour a week salaried employees, we can often work upwards of 50 hours a week. Especially if you are covering an out of town sales route. There is no cheating the drive time it takes to cover some of these rural areas in Alberta. Advancement can be tough for those who aren’t willing to relocate as well. If you are a person who doesn’t mind moving to a different city or province to advance their career then the sky is the limit at Pepsi. There are also the obvious advantages of working for a big place like this such as a pension, benefits, RRSP match, job security, and competitive pay. Just come ready to work hard and have the occasional long day.

Its a warehouse job.

They pay well, its hard physical work and the hours are kinda bad being 5-1:30 in the morning and its all seniority so you are going to be laid off but overall its a pretty fun job and if those three things don't bother you and you stay with it then you can find a lifelong career here.

Great work life balance

Overall, Pepsi Co was a great employer, work life balance is something that is emphasized in the work environment. The only problem i had was with upper management, quite frankly i would constantly get rude snarky remarks. But that's just my experience with my department.

Unless you are educated in somesort engerneering you advancment oppritunities are next to nothing. Supervisor is as far as you can make regardless of xperience and knoledge, they just want new grads to filter through

Crew was ok, management is age biased and had poor communication.

In the time I was there, all new hires and promotions were given to people under 30, in many cases with little to no prior expectance. The old experienced crew was a decent bunch of guys, but when they started getting passed up for better shifts or promotions for kids with little experience they started leaving, including myself. I applied for different positions twice, and both times my interview was conveniently postponed, a time or two, then forgotten. Then both positions were filled by people in their 20's, one of which was a new hire.

Selective advancement

Advancement in this company is for people who want to try out all aspects of Food Manufacturing. It is limited for Subject matter expert’s as the only advancement is if you are willing to relocate every 3 to 5 years. They hire from outside but value expertise within so integrating in challenging.

Good wages, good advancement, very straining, poor scheduling

The job pays well, I got around 19.50 and there was myriad opportunity for OT. Moreover, the job did give clear obligations and you were never sitting around doing nothing. However, they often gave you too much and it was implicitly expected to give up lunches for advancement. The time demands were very straining as it often required >12 hours to finish a route (although you could leave after 10). It was also very lonely, there wasn't anyone around to talk to other than the employees at your stores, but if you changed often you'd forget them. Being able to see around the city is nice, however. There definitely is a potential to rise in the ranks, as almost all the upper management started out as sales reps. Managers usually don't hound you much either, which is nice. Overall, I'd recommend the job if you are an independent and efficient worker looking to grow in a career. Definitely too straining to be a long-time job however.

It is what you make it

They try really hard to please their employees but they don't actually listen to them. The jobs are okay and the pay is good but it's only as good as you put into it. They are surprisingly not very advanced for such a large company.

Rude management

Rude management. Poor work life in this company. If you ask for a sick leave in prior time still they cancel your upcoming shifts. Zero trust on their employees. Working hours are less if you are looking for a part time weekend job. The customer service coordinator of GTA area is worst.

Very Supportive Management

One of the best company you’ll ever work for. Supervisor supports us in every possible way, salary and benefits are good too! Also if you like working alone and you’re good at managing your time - Merchandising is the job for you.

Horrible place to work

I liked it at first, it isn't a very hard job, but the nights were long. I worked Saturday-Monday 7pm to 7am. Sometimes you'd start out your shift with absolutely no work, you'd be standing around for an hour or two doing nothing. Usually you'd run our of work between 2:30am-3:30am. You'd clean and audit your area and you'd be free to go home, if you wanted to lose pay. You'd be so bored though you'd give in and leave because there was no work. After a few months there though you start to see how bad management is. They sit in their little command area and do nothing. You'd run out of the most popular chips and you'd have to suspend boxes until you'd get product. It was an all night, every night thing. You'd get PSL angry at you because you'd have a boatload of suspended boxes and trucks wouldn't be able to leave because they don't have all the product . If management didn't like you, they place you places they knew you didn't like much. My coworkers were great though. God forbid you miss a shift or two though for family emergencies. You'll end up fired a few weeks before your 6 months. This is your warning to not work at Frito-Lay/PepisCo

Good place except pay for existing employees . Mobility can be an issue in pay and career aspirations. Management is encouraging understanding and flexible
