Growing Company
Systems Administrator (Ancien employé) –  Red Deer, AB6 septembre 2019
If you are looking for a growing organization, this is the place. The culture has changed from a small town company that brought everyone together to something different, not bad but different and something I did not enjoy. With growth there are obstacles, but they are growing fast and this has caused some turmoil.
Points positifs
Learning opportunities, the people.
Points négatifs
Lots of change, need to slow down and finish a few items before moving onto the next thing

Horrible upper managment
Truck driver (Employé actuel) –  British Columbia21 août 2019
I've never worked for such a disorganized, backwards thinking, inefficient company in my life. Upper management comes in, shoots from the hip with sweeping changes and then doesn't even look back to see the destruction they just created. Everyday I go to work I just shake my head at some of the decisions being made by the higher ups.

Big corporation, the mind set of a small co-op.
Commis inventaire produits (Employé actuel) –  Montréal, QC23 juillet 2019
Parkland is growing too fast. They don't take the time to integrate all the new components properley, as they are just buying their competitors.

It's a great place to learn new systems and to learn how to be more efficent by yourself. There are no procedures and it's easy to play with the reports to try to find out new ways to do your job.

But they are not employees oriented, There is no system, no support, and there is no chance to grow in this company.

They just ask you to do more without recognizing your work or your achivements.

They pay well though.

If someone wants to grow in a company, achieve goals or to thrive, it's not the place to go.

If you want a place that pays well and that's it, then you're at the good place.
Points positifs
good money, good benefits

Over loaded with work no help
Tractor Trailer Driver (Employé actuel) –  Dartmouth, NS7 mai 2019
Parkland is a corporation with stock holders they run things bare bones all the time to make profits look better for share holders. They work you hard don't expect any extra help because that cost money and they don't have a budget for it. There's no advancement there the managers are only puppets to there managers. They have a manager for everything more managers then they have workers. These managers are all just manages and unexperienced in this type of work but know how to do things cheaply and work you to the bone. They are loosing customers daily because of this big cooperate attitude. If you work here expect to be busy and do more then is expected from your job.

Worker (Ancien employé) –  Red Deer, AB25 avril 2019
Always lots going on allowing you to grow and learn new things constantly - sometimes to much for the people working. Work to home life balance does not seem to be a priority

Terrible Work Life Balance
Business Analyst (Employé actuel) –  Alberta18 avril 2019
They treat their employees like total dung. They make them work till 11pm at night with no apology and only promise it will get better.
They promote their company as an amazing place to work and promise work life balance and getting home at a decent time.
When they are short staffed they ask you do responsibilities that are not in your job profile and work you like a dog. What a bad company.

You will be a cog in the machine
Representative (Employé actuel) –  Red Deer, AB18 avril 2019
You will be expected to live and breathe Parkland. Your 8 hour days will not be sufficient and more is definitely expected of you, even if you don't get paid for it. The workload is heavy and the training you will be provided upon hire will be little to none so expect to hit the ground running because there are a huge amount of acquisitions and with each new one, you get more work but you won't get more people to help manage the load of work.

Workaholics are what they want, so if that is you then this is the job for you.

Management varies depending on the department. There are some really good ones, and there are some truly bad ones but mid to upper level has a high turn over rate so don't expect to keep your manager for long anyway.

Salary can be rated as poor to satisfactory.

The job culture can be described as corporate. You are a cog in a very large machine, and if you don't do your part perfectly then you will be replaced quickly and "restructured" out.
Points positifs
you get share matching
Points négatifs
They make sure you know you are always replacable

Not just a call centre
Deployment Agent (Ancien employé) –  Montréal, QC16 avril 2019
Very interesting place to work - you will learn a lot and the salary isn't bad either. You are not just a call centre but more of a specialist. You will learn how to handle difficult real world situations with clients and help put their minds at ease.

Buyer beware ...
Financial Analyst (Employé actuel) –  Calgary, AB3 avril 2019
Don't believe all of the media hype. Yes, the company is constantly growing through acquisitions and things move at a very fast pace. But they expect you to give your heart and soul with little in return. You have to work long hours to keep up with the work. Pay and benefits are below average. There's no room for growth because the management level doesn't change. Promotions are given based on favoritism and not merit. Expect lots of turnover and knee-jerk changes with little support.
Points positifs
Hard-working employees
Points négatifs
Middle management, long hours, and low pay

Territory Manager (Employé actuel) –  Edmonton, AB29 mars 2019
Nothing positive to say, so not worth mentioning. Would not recommend Parkland as a place to work unless you have no home life and live for your job. If you love to work hard and never be financially rewarded by the way of a promotion or a bonus.

no work life balance or job security

Amazing Company to work for
2nd/3rd Level Support Tech/Network Administrator (Ancien employé) –  Red Deer, AB5 mars 2019
Parkland is a dynamic company that grows by acquisition. In the last 10 years, I have seen this company grow more than anyone else in the Petroleum industry. the CEO is very thoughtful, caring and works to make sure the employees are happy beyond what a CEO at any other company would do. Parkland looks after its business, and treats its store operators with respect and dignity to help achieve their monthly and yearly goals.

This company will continue to grow worldwide in the Petroleum C-Store and Commercial business.

In our Red Deer Office, we have a family like culture. Everyone knows everyone, and everyone is willing to help each other out. You know the people, you know their families.
Points positifs
Benefits, Compensation and Charity Support
Points négatifs

Not great
Pipeline Laborer (Ancien employé) –  Slave Lake, AB4 mars 2019
No good. Busted our butts for them only to get laid off as soon as the tough work is done and the straight shots were in sight. Hit our quota everyday and above and beyond. Got pressured from higher up through dangerous weather conditions then laid off for lower wage locals..
Points positifs
a paycheck
