Fun place to work with lots to do to gain experience in the work field.
Support Server (Ancien employé) – Lakeshore Blvd, Toronto – 6 juin 2014
I would handle coat check at the beginning of every event and the end of every event when the clients would be entering/leaving. During the actual event, I would be asked to serve beverages such as water or wine to the clients and walked around to make sure all of them were satisfied or to help any who requested it. Back in the kitchen, I would help clean up the dishes and put away the cups and cutlery so they could be properly washed. At the end of the events, I would clean up the tables.
During my time, I learned how to work in a team-based, fast-paced environment, which was tiring but a lot of fun because you always had something to do. My managers were always super friendly and always there to help if I ever needed it and my co-workers were just the same as well. Everyone there was a pleasure to work with.
The hardest part of my job was definitely the long hours you had to stand without sitting, however if you are good on your feet like I was, that should be no problem. Since I was a first time server, the task of carrying a lot of stuff made me nervous and I tried my best not to mess up and drop anything, however it was surprisingly easy once you get the hang of it.
The most enjoyable part of my time was definitely getting to meet new people and having a good time working with my co-workers.
Free Food, Pay was good
Long hours that extended into very late at night
