Pacific Western Transportation - Profil

Our people are our greatest asset. After all, it’s our people who safely transport our passengers to where they need to be. In all of the urban and rural communities we serve, our employees bring the Core Values to life, day in and day out.
Pacific Western Transportation’s reputation for leadership and quality comes from the integrity and dedication of our talented staff. Our mission is to exceed customer expectations by employing talented people who share in the dedication of a company committed to Safety and Service.
The Pacific Western Transportation family has grown substantially over the years, now boasting over 5,000 employees all across Canada — including professional drivers/operators, passenger logistics support personnel, mechanics, technicians, and managers distributed across numerous business locations.

• Partnerships/Employee Discounts with TELUS, Mark’s, LensCrafters, Fountain Tire, GoodLife Fitness, and Choice HotelsSafety and Training opportunities, such as the Nationally Accredited Driver Training Program through Motor Carrier Passenger Council of Canada (MCPCC)
• We conduct semi-annual Raise the Bar and Town Hall sessions. We give our employees the opportunity to contribute their thoughts and ideas – fostering a culture of engaged employees who work with a passion and feel an emotional connection to the company.

Safely Home is our unifying brand for the Pacific Western Group of Companies. It is our first Core Value, and is at the heart of all we do.
What drives us is our deep conviction to Safety and the ultimate promise we make to each other, to our clients, and to the communities in which we operate.
Our world-class safety mission means fostering a safety culture where each person is accountable for the safety and well-being of all and ensuring our people and passengers arrive Safely Home, each and every day.

Our varied operations are unified by a company-wide commitment to the Core Values first established by our founder, R.B. Colborne.

With several corporate rewards and incentives, we honour our people for their commitment and service:
• THE R.B COLBORNE AWARD OF EXCELLENCE recognizes and celebrates employees who have made a significant contribution through a commitment to our Core Values — the same Core Values first instilled by Pacific Western Transportation founder Robert Colborne. Nominees are selected by their peers and then evaluated by a committee that chooses the top nominees in each business line for induction into the PWT President’s Club of Excellence. From these nominees, a single recipient is chosen by the Board of Directors to receive the R.B. Colborne Award of Excellence. The recipient receives a $10,000 gift reward, a personalized plaque and a commemorative pin.
• THE BOWIE SUSTAINABLE LEADERSHIP AWARD recognizes the valuable and sustaining leadership work that Douglas Bowie provided to the corporation’s employees spanning two decades. The award is presented annually to an employee who has made a significant contribution to building leadership capacity within the Pacific Western Group of Companies.
• The LONG TERM SERVICE AWARD recognizes and celebrates employees who have been with any of the Pacific Western Transportation companies for 25 years and beyond. Each award recipient receives a distinctive gift and a financial reward.

Our value proposition, Safely Home, represents our deep conviction to safety and it is the ultimate promise we make to each other, the communities in which we operate, and the customers that we deeply value. We are a part of the fabric of every community we serve, not simply a ‘service provider’. The strength of our company lies in our people - the over 5,000 drivers/operators, mechanics, technicians, support personnel, and managers we employ.
Community involvement is especially important to us. You will find us partaking in various initiatives, such as stuffing buses with donations for the Food Bank, transporting teddy bears for the ‘Teddy Bear Toss’ initiative, volunteering and contributing to local charities, and assisting first responders in times of crisis. Cumulatively, our varied lines of business across Canada volunteer tens of thousands of hours in the communities we serve.
The Pacific Western Group of Companies takes great pride in this country, its people, and the communities in which we operate. We value the ability to give back in a meaningful way and strive to show it through the work we do for others.
